As I needed some minor repair work, I went to a local well-known auto-body shop for an estimate; they gave me a quote of > $300.

Since I thought this was very high, I decided to get a second opinion. After searching the internet I found a good review about Shippan Auto Body. I’m writing today to say that review was understated – they are the best!

I worked with Kevin and found him, professional, knowledgeable, courteous and extremely honest and fair in his estimate and charges. Not only did he charge me $85 for the same work, his honesty was tested and revealed to me that same day.

I mentioned to him, during our conversation, a long-standing mechanical issue causing water build-up in my trunk. He said, “Let me take a look at it and see if I can solve it; but, I need to open it up”. The problem was solved with a homemade patch for the tiny part (button) that was missing and he charged me $15 for labor and parts. Unheard of, especially in the auto-body world; I had no way of knowing this was such a small, affordable fix. I could have easily been over-charged and would never have questioned it. He also, at no charge, cleaned up some fingernail scratches.

The entire experience was painless both on my budget and my stress level and actually a pleasurable encounter. I highly recommend Shippan Auto Body on 21 St. Mary St., Stamford, CT. Their workers were also kind, courteous and efficient. It’s nice to know that American know-how and honesty still reign in some parts of New England.

I had a deer hit with my truck. Called up and Mike told me to bring it in any time to get an estimate. When I arrived he came out did a thorough estimate and gave me a printout of it for my insurance in less than 20 minutes. I dropped it off the next day and got it back looking better than when I bought it! Great work Mike thanks again!

I got locked out of my car this evening. I called these guys and they were there 20 minutes later and this guy worked endlessly for 25 minutes helping me get into my Jeep. Did I mention it was pouring rain? I thought this dude, and My Way Auto Body, deserved the mention. You rarely find this type of service in these situations. Thanks! NF
