We found the Occupational Therapists at Helping Hands exemplary. The right therapist was chosen to suit each of my children's unique needs after an initial thorough evaluation was done. They were kind, sensitive and caring. They formed a trusted relationship and bond with not only my children, but wanted and welcomed my feedback and input as well. We felt respected, welcomed and our needs were taken seriously. We made more progress in this OT program than in any other therapy we have tried. My children have been discharged from OT but still miss going because they loved it so much! As for the below review.... Billing and insurance is always annoying. But to have therapists who truly CARE about my children's progress it is a small price to pay . I highly recommend Helping Hands if you are looking for an excellent pediatric Occupational Therapy program for your child.

We will not let our son suffer because they are only a business

Dealing with the insurance company can be at times quite a challenge, however they were a lot easier and more knowledgeable then the billing department at Helping Hands, Inc. We have a PPO with unlimited coverage. The first 6 months we were with Helping Hands we had no problems with their billing department. We received normal Explanation of Benefits from our insurance company and bills from Helping Hands, we promptly paid. Then came the new billing department/office manager and that quickly changed. After providing Helping Hands with all the documentation their billing department/office manager requested we started receiving EOB’s from our insurance company stating “Your claim has been denied because information we previously requested from you provider {that would be Helping Hands} was not received. You are not responsible for these charges.” We provided Helping Hands billing department/office manager all the documentation they request to file these claims on numerous occasions, at least twice a month for 6 months. After NOT receiving a bill from Helping Hands for 9 months, we received a phone call stating we had a bill in excess of six thousand dollars and it was now our responsibility to pay this amount or straighten out our insurance since it was too difficult for them to deal with our insurance company or they would be stopping treatment. The billing department/office manager also at that time stated “try to remember we are a business and in the end it’s the children who suffer.” Since Lisa Worcester {the owner} would not return our phone calls to discuss the matter, it was apparent she was comfortable in running her business in this manner. We contacted our insurance company, took the appropriate steps they required and Helping Hands was paid within 3 weeks. Given the unprofessional and very rude way in which Helping Hands treated us and conducted themselves in this matter, they also made it clear they were no longer interested in treating our son. Since Lisa Worcester {the owner} felt comfortable mentioning this incident in our son’s Occupational Therapy Summary, which clearly has nothing to do with our son’s progress, only made it obvious to us the lack of professionalism on their part, and they obviously had no respect for us whatsoever. We are very comfortable with our decision to leave Helping Hands.
