Took my mother there for her Birthday. They were awesome. I would definitely go back again. Wait staff was extremely polite.

This is an awesome place to dine in or take out. I usually go every Sunday. No matter what you order it will be fantastic. Moderately price, huge portions and great staff. Fun friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend Basil's.

overrated

I went to Basils when they first opened. Ordered the lobster roll and it was absolutely delicious! I went the 2nd time and my steak was over cooked and veggies were cold. sent it back and steak was almost rare and the veggies were still cold! Complained politely and got a free dessert. Not enough compensation for the $20.00 it cost for the steak that I DID NOT want to finish. Servers are polite, but the chef needs to time the food to have it all at least warm when it gets to the table!

Great Food, Great Price, and Great Portions

I finally got a chance to eat here. The place just opened, and it's run by the son of the owner of Stafford House of Pizza. No grinders or pizza, but that's by design.

They have a dedicated dining area in front, and a bar in back with a wide variety of drinks: they may vary them depending on demand during a certain time of the week or month.

No for the food. It's amazing, and the portions are huge. I ordered the Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo. It was $15, but I had enough for a second meal tommorow night. If you eat light you could get three or four meals out of it. The chicken was cooked properly: not cut up(cutting chicken up before cooking dries it out) so it was juicy.

My brother got the Fish and Chips and was presener with a pile of fries topped with five decent sized pieces of fried fish. He thought it wasdeliciou too. The clam chowder was delicious with nice chunks of clam meat.

There was about a twenty minute wait(it's a Friday night), and they ran out of gift certificates(100 in a day and a half since he wasn't expecting it to take off like that in this economy.)

In all a great place, and a nice way to replace Bravos(they moved with more crowded dining area, higher prices, and less food in a serving) and for good fish and chips now that Village Pizza moved to main st as take out.
