Terrible, awful, inedible crap. Any place in Springfield is better than this... well, maybe not Mexican Villa.

Best Mexican Food, and not just in Springfield!

I used to live in Springfield, and my parents still live there. I live in Indianapolis now, but anytime my boyfriend and I go visit we always have to go to Maria's. We were just there a few weeks ago and didn't have time to go, but we had my parents get us some to-go food to take back home with us. This is how good Maria's is.

To begin with, their housemade salsa is delicious. They also have a hotter version you can ask for, which my boyfriend, my father and I love. Their queso is also very good.

The Sergio is my absolute favorite dish. It's a shredded beef chimichanga, which is stuffed with shredded beef and cheese, deep fried, and then smothered with queso. It is so delicious I get it almost every time, even though they have tons of other great options.

One tip I have is that you can get pretty much anything ala carte if you ask. I always do this with the sergio because it's so filling I don't need rice and beans.

Another great option is their 'should be famous' fried tacos. That's right, deep-fried tacos. You can get them with a variety of ingredients, from shredded chicken to seafood. I don't like seafood, but my mom and my boyfriend love these. My mom has a friend who has to come to Maria's anytime she comes to visit, specifically for the fried tacos. The fillings are great, and the crispy fried tortilla practically melts in your mouth. Yum.

They also have a wide selection of Tequilas, margaritas, and beers. All in all, a wonderful experience in the heart of downtown Springfield.

Awesome, must try the Seafood Taco...it's addictive. Get with a side of sour cream. Heard they have a great Blackberry Margarita!
