My children started daycare at the beginning of summer and I am already looking to place them somewhere else. The front desk ladies are highly rude. They charged me a registration fee at the start of my children and I was then again obligated to pay another registration fee this month. They didn't mention it to me for 22 days and then wrote a nice little nasty note telling me to pay it or the kids can't come back. I questioned why I had to pay twice a year. She was rude. My daughter in class 2 cries all day and until a new teacher started I wasn't aware that she was unhappy. The other teachers didn't mention it, but then they can't keep teachers more then two weeks. My son is in a classroom where his toys are stolen (what he brings for show and tell). They don't pay attention to them as much as they pay attention to the money coming in. Misc. charges should be their catch phrase. My son spent a whole day sick there and I didn't realize he was sick until I came and picked him up. He had 102 fever and they didn't notice that all day. No wonder sickness runs through this daycare all the time. They don't pay their employees enough to care or to stay. Yet, they can charge you 170 bucks a week. I wouldn't recommend anyone sending their children to Building Blocks. It may sound great that they have preschool programs but they don't work with them as much as you think. The teachers are usually sitting there discussing their weekend while your child is obligated to sit at a table with three toys and play for hours at a time. Poor Management on Chatham Road. Also, although they say their form of discipline is to redirect them I have witnessed teachers slaming children into time out chair and they pinch your childrens ears until they behave. Smart that they know it don't leave a mark. Stupid to think that until kids reach a certain age they don't know how to lie. However, when your children are playing with their dolls and pinch their ears and say "I expect you to listen". I would really think twice before picking this daycare.
