First rate muffler service. Easy and convenient online appointments and very professional service. Hands down the best muffler shop I have patroned. Kevin installed a Borla cat-back exhaust system on my Corolla Hatchback and I couldn't be more pleased. First class welds and awesome attention to detail.

Consistent Excellence in Customer Service & Quality

Been having Ed Hanson's perform custom exhaust work & repairs on my cars for 25 years+. Their staff is friendly, courteous, and always work with me to achieve the desired results. From race cars to street cars, SUV's to RVs, vintage classics to modern daily drivers, they've got it covered. Most recently they were able to help me with some repair to a rare vintage car of mine so I could keep it on the road and show worthy. Very happy they continue to serve our car enthusiast community!

No Substitute for quality

I was told to visit Ed Hanson's shop by a friend of mine . It's great when you find out for yourself what people are talking about. Ed Hanson's shop stands alone in East county for quality work and quality people. They put a solid , quiet , and dependable exhaust system in my 63' ford. It made my engine so quiet now I notice all the rattles and shakes in my old car I could never hear before. "Awesome"
Thank you to all the staff for providing quality workmanship and friendly service, something that is missing these days in a lot of other businesses, but then a lot of other businesses have not been around for 30 years.

Showed up 15 mins early for my appointment. They diagnosed my resonator was the issue when the engine was under load and at about 1400 rpms.
I was out of there in an hour.
Excellent service and great front desk (receptionist) knowledge.
I have been going there on and off for 30 years when I needed a muffler solution

The folks at Ed Hanson's diagnosed and repaired my leaky heat riser in my vintage car at very reasonable cost. Not only is the engine much quieter, the engine runs much smoother, and the increase in throttle response is dramatic. It feels like I gained 50 horsepower ! Big thanks for their expertise and courtesy. Joe Vissers

I wish I could rate this business higher then 5 stars. Extremely rare to find a business that doesn't try to take advantage of you. We brought our full size RV to get the exhaust system checked having been told by several mechanics it was the source of some random engine stalls. They got us right in & checked it and said no problems here you're good to go. Could have easily did unneeded repairs but did not. Highest caliber service I would easily travel 100s of miles for their service.

Well, let me start by saying i have never provided a review for any business. Maybe that's because before now, I never felt compelled to do so.

I needed help building an exhaust system for my 1940 Ford hot rod which I had just spent every day of the last 10 months meticulously building from the ground up. I first called a few speed shops and though many of them did exhaust systems, they all referred me to Ed Hanson's for custom work. My experience began when I called Ed's and had the pleasure of explaining my situation to Barbie, who confirmed that in fact I had come to the right place, assuring me that I would be well taken care of.

Arriving at my scheduled appointment, Barbie greeted my and introduced me to Kevin, an employee of 28 years and the mechanic/artist that would be sculpting an exhaust system worthy of my project. A few minutes later I was introduced to an unassuming man by the name of Ed Hanson. Ed immediately reminded me of my father; energetic, engaging and most of all, proud of his work, and his "family" of employees at the business he had built over more than 3 decades.

I went over the car with Kevin, explained to him my wants and needs, and listened as he described how he would go about crafting my exhaust. Convinced that Kevin was the right artist for the job, I began to meander about the shop. I met Joe, another artist that's worked for Ed for more than 30 years and watched as he sculpted a meticulous exhaust system for a customer's near new Range Rover. I also continued my conversation with Ed. We talked about life, his family, his other "family" and his business. Ed is a very gracious person and took time out of his busy day (he was fixing the hydraulics on one of his many pipe benders) to talk with me about any subject I cared to bring up, and the more I learned about Ed the more I liked this man.

Meanwhile, Kevin continued working his brand of magic on my car, occasionally calling me over to discuss his thoughts on any one of a myriad of little obstacles encountered on my particular installation. As Kevin was clearly well versed and knew exactly what he was doing, I wisely chose to follow his advice. Kevin was tasked with routing my exhaust up and through the frame with just 3/16" clearance around the pipe. The pride Kevin takes in his work and his attention to every detail showed as Kevin worked tirelessly to create the perfect exhaust system for my ride.

I could not have been more pleased with the work Kevin did and highly recommend Ed's to anyone that needs work done on their exhaust system. In fact, I look forward to taking my son's classic 67 Camaro there next and having the opportunity to visit with Ed and his "family" again. Thank you again Ed, Kevin, Joe and Barbie for such a wonderful experience!!!

Got a quote on the phone by Ed...

Got a quote on the phone by Ed, he took the time out to discuss all my exhaust needs for my car. I set up my appointment for my cat back system on my car and was excited to get the work done. I arrived for my 7:30 appointment and they put my car up as soon as I arrived and started working on it. What was suppose to be an 11/2 job ended up taking 2 1/2 hours because the mechanic I had kept leaving my job and working on cars that came in off the street as well as he stopped to get him something to snack on at the gas station next door. The job turned out good and Ed was really nice, I just don't think he should of allowed his mechanic to stop what he was doing when I had a scheduled appointment, my time is very important and because of this guy stopping and going on my car my entire day had to be rearranged due to the extra time this appointment needed. Very disappointed in the professionalism of the shop.

My turn to Sing the Praises of Ed hanson's

My 1996 Impala SS with 270,000 Miles finally failed smog. Knew it was time for new Cats. My regular mechanic recommended Ed, so I drove right over there. Ed did some checking and found He could use aftermarket Cats. Saved Me about $500 right there. While doing the job he showed me the X pipe. I said i had to have that, so it was installed right away. (If you've got a hot car, YOU WANT AN X PIPE.) He then thru in a couple of Nice exhaust tips (no charge), since my original exhaust ended in the wrong place. Ed is so knowledgeable it's scary. And the word ""nice"" in the dictionary should have his picture next to it.
Superior work and customer service. I didn't believe businesses like this existed anymore.

I've had an exhaust leak at the manifold/head due to broken bolts for most of my Impala's life (13 years). Never had it fixed because everyone i asked about it said the head had to be removed to get the bolts out.
I mentioned it to Ed and he said that was wrong, He could get them out and fix the leak no problem. Boy was he right. HE AND HIS GUYS FIXED BOTH SIDES WITHOUT REMOVING ANYTHING BUT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD !!! The way they do it pure GENIUS !!!!!.... If you've got broken Exhaust manifold bolts, go to ed, he'll make a believer out of you. I can not say enough good things about ed and the way he does business. If all businesses we're run like ed's, the world would be a far better place.

They really did an excellent job and worked with me on what I wanted out of my truck. The muffler mounting was phenomenal. The tube routing was great. They made the dual exhaust the way I had it planned out in my mind...except, they did it a little better. Ok, enough about the exhaust. Now about the service. Ed and Joe have been at this for 25+ years. They know what they are doing. They love what they are doing. It shows in their work.

Ed is very fair in pricing and he and his staff provides a very honest and expert welding job with superb service. Job is very clean and neat. Ed and his wife are very good in their exhaust systems knowledge and customer service. I highly recommend Ed Hanson Muffler shop for their work. Wife's Subaru easily passed smog test later that day with extremely low emissions. Catalytic converters do work very well in reducing exhaust emissions. Very good people!
