My Family Vet sprang from Dr. Scott’s vision of a veterinary practice that encompassed excellent patient care with a compassionate and personable experience. Dr. Scott made her vision a reality when she started practicing out of the front room of her own home. Word quickly spread that she was an amazing veterinarian and her practice began to grow. It was time she moved out of her house and into her own space. Dr. Scott moved into a 600 square foot area and hired her first team members creating My Family Vet.

As she continued to grow, she was able to open her arms to local rescue groups in need, helping those pets get healthy and find their forever homes. It did not take long to realize that My Family Vet needed even more space to accommodate our ever growing client family. In 2006 Clyde and Charlcy Theiss were kind enough to sell their ranch home on Kuykendahl to Dr. Scott knowing it was “going to the dogs!” There were many spiritual confirmations along the way that opened doors for this location and made My Family Vet what it is today. With your help we have hired more staff and doctors to accommodate the influx of patients. We are now able to do more surgeries, see more clients/patients in a timely manner with our 7 exam rooms, and help more of our sick patients with our spacious treatment area. We are constantly educating ourselves on new medications, techniques, and treatments to keep up with the ever changing practices of veterinary medicine. From our humble beginnings of 50 clients to now almost 15,000 My Family Vet continues to heal animals through excellent veterinary medicine, client education and compassionate care.

Please feel free to come by and visit our clinic. Our staff is always ready to meet your furry family members. And don’t forget to stop and smell the roses in our beautiful prayer garden.

Dr. Clara Scott and her team deserve praise for their compassion and diligence when dealing with an older dog. Our dog, Buster was very sick and needed emergency attention, which he got from them. Buster did not make it unfortunately, but the staff was very sympathetic and caring.

Would reccommend to anyone! I have been going to Dr. Scott ever since she opened. When we get another buddy in our lives again, we will take him to Dr. Scott and her amazing team.

It is my opinion that if you love your dog do not bring it to My Family Vet aka Clara Scott. I believe that she does not care about the pets only the money. In my experience she was extremely negligent in my dog's care. I took him there for care, but he ultimately died because she didn't look for the CAUSE of his problem--only treated his symptoms. I believe her lack of care resulted in his death, and I'm sure I'm not the only pet owner who has had this experience. She loves to rant about how many hours a week she works. Don't like your job? Get another one. Talks about bringing her children to work. Doesn't she know how lucky she is? Greed is quite the motivator. IMHO, Dr. Scott is now a liability to what once was a good practice. And no, Clara, I don't work for any other vet nor am I married to one.. I'm just a sad, heartbroken pet parent who loved my dog and made the mistake of trusting you. I would advise anyone looking for a vet to learn from my experience and STAY AWAY FROM MY FAMILY VET! Your pet will love you for it!

Dear Hairofthedog66, Losing a pet is never easy on a family or veterinarian. When a patient/friend is lost many emotions surface and questions are asked. I apologize if at any time things were not explained regarding the care provided at MFV. By no means are we perfect, but we strive to be the best for our clients and furry family members everyday. I do love my job - both my clients and employees can testify to that. MFV is not about Clara, but about a team of people committed to education, care, and medicine. Everyone here is compassionate and loving. The current team is very diverse and all our personalities are unique. This place is a family that strives for perfection. I would love to speak with you about your experience personally. Call 281-288-0500

I WILL NOT GO BACK TO MY FAMIL...

I WILL NOT GO BACK TO MY FAMILY VET EVER!!! I took my dog in 2 1/2 weeks ago, I told them that she had loose stool, she was lethargic, and she wasn't eating normally. When I got there, they asked me if she was spayed, I said no, and they immediately assumed that maybe she had some sort of vaginal infection and this was the cause of her problems, even though there were no signs of an infection, and they said she seemed fine, they asked me to check her pee that evening and if her pee seemed abnormal to bring her in for some blood work, and sent me on my way. Her pee that evening was normal, so I did not take her back in for blood work. Well today (2 1/2 weeks later), my dog vomited up a pig/cow hoof that I gave her just a few days before I took her to the vet. I had forgotten that I gave her the pigs hoof, so I did not inform the vet about it. I called the vet freaking out about it, angry that the vet didn't try to do more to find out what was causing my dog's lethargy, they said I should bring her in for another visit ($) and an xray ($). When I finally spoke to Dr. Scott, she was very angry and defensive and said that I was to blame for them not finding out about her stomach, that I was basically a terrible pet owner (parent as she put it) for not bringing her back in (which she seemed slightly better then before so of course I didn't take her in), and they were at no fault. She also described what I had told them during the first visit and no where in what she read did it say she had loose stool, wasn't eating, and was lethargic. She accused me of not saying things that would have been "key" to find out what was wrong. WHAT MORE ELSE DO I NEED TO SAY THEN MY DOG ISN'T EATING, HAS LOOSE STOOL, AND IS LETHARGIC?!?!?! This is ridiculous, and I will not put up with this. The last time I took a dog to a vet, (my last dog) and they assumed something that was incorrect, she ended up dying the next day. So what I learned about this vet is they only want your money, and they DO NOT listen.

Dear Kelsey K, I am sorry you took offense to my call. We are a busy place because we are real, authentic, hard-working individuals that 17,000 clients, plus 72 rescue groups trust with their furry children. The problem with your complaint was that you never told anyone in the clinic- receptionist, technician, or doctor that you fed your dog a dried up piece of carcass. I used the word parent, because your dog is counting on you to feed it the proper nutrition. I wouldn't give my children - two legged or furry- anything I wouldn't eat myself. Think about your responsibility in this situation and where were you in the 16 days you claim your dog was lethargic? I was here working... And yes, I took the time to call you... Dr Scott

I went to "My family vet" with my 15 years old beautiful and suite dog (Chou Chou) in extreme pain due to a tumor and we were very worried that we had to put her to sleep because she would not survive any surgery because of her age. Dr Scott was wonderful and very professional explaining to us all the options we had and this helped us to decide to go on with the surgery. She perform it and guess what... my dog is running as a teenager happy dog.

We are extremely grateful to Dr. Scott.......... Clara we love you!!

I think my My Family Vet is a great vet! I have been to many others and they do not even compare to the compassion they have for the pets. I have told so many people to go there and they have been so happy with every vet they have seen. They are a very busy clinic and I can see why! I would wait all day to see them if I had to. Every person that works there is always smiling and as nice as could be! I will never go anywhere else

My Family Vet is phenomenal! All the Doctors are great. They take the time to make sure I understand my pets needs. Some times they can be super busy but what do you expect from a clinic that make such a great impression. I have always had an animal in my life and I have been to several vet clinics. This clinic is the only one that doesn't just take my money and expect me to google my problems.

My Dog Died due to lack of care

I was a client for years. Dr. Scott is great only if you need your annual shots. She was negligent in my dogs care, this is confirmed by several other vets, and now he is gone. The worst part is that when she realized she dropped the ball with his care she wouldn't return calls or e-mails. She abandoned us in our time of need. If you love your pet go somewhere else!

Dear X-client, Thank you so much for your feedback. Unfortunately, I can't improve my client care in your case because you gave me no specifics. What is intresting is on the same day you wrote a negative about MFV, you posted 5 other reviews including one about a neighboring clinic. Hence, this makes me think you work for another clinic? Call or write if you want to speak more. I work over 50 hours a week and love emails and calls. Even my kids stay here! Sorry I couldn't help you more? Karma Karma Karma

I've been taking my 4 pets to My Family Vet since 2008 and can't imagine going anywhere else! The staff and doctors are amazing and treat my pets like they are a part of their own family. Whether its general exams or an upset tummy I always feel like I get the best care possible and that I'm never taken advantage of with pricing. I always ask for a medical care plan so that I know ahead of time what the cost will be and they try to keep my bill where I can afford it. I tell all of my friends and family about My Family Vet and anyone I've recommened to has never been dissapointed.

My Family Vet Is A Very Bad Clinic! Don't Take your Pet Here!

I brought my cat here last month for the problems he was having. Dr. Morrissey was his vet. She said my cat had a very high blood count. She also found that he was constipated and may have some other issues. She called me back and said that they had taken care of his issues and that he was ready to go home. She said that he was much better, he ate all of his food, he was cleaned out, and ready to go with his prescription and his recovery food. She also said that she had given him a steroid shot which was not indicated on his bill they gave me. When I brought him home I found that he was no better than when I took him in. He ate nothing and he was miserable the entire next day and the following morning. I wonder if they did anything? I really have my doubts! I called her back and told her that I was going to have him put to sleep so that he wouldn't have to suffer any more. She had no objections or even wondered what went wrong since she just released him with such a clean bill of health just two days before. I took him in to have him put to sleep the following day. In the past I've had 3 other cats put to sleep in my time. None of which I was expected to pay for their funneral upfront. Why do that to someone? That is so "Tacky" and so inconsiderate! It's even sickning!! This Dr. Morrissey wasn't even there. They instead put me with this Dr. Ashmore. She couldn't get done with the euthanasia fast enough. She comes in and tells me to leave the room. I told her that I wanted to see my cat through this and wanted to be with him until it was all over just as I had done in the past with all of my other cats and the long lives they had all lived. She looked at me really strange turned around and left and slammed the door behind her. She came back in and while I was getting myself ready for the procedure this Dr. Ashmore started examining my cat while he was still alive and said out loud that he was still very constipated and said that she felt a tumor. Does this Dr. Morrissey know what she's doing? I wonder? Rest In Peace "Booty"!! You were The Very Best!! You lived one long and healthy life! I will always Love You!! Sorry you had to deal with such morons as this in the end!!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS CLINIC!!!!!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS CLINIC!!!!!

We have a diabetic cat who needs insulin twice a day. I made an appointment to have his glucose level checked and dropped him off in the morning. I called later to check on him and they said that they had not performed the test because I had not brought his insulin with me. I was not told that he needed it.

We made a second appointment to have him checked and my husband received a call later to inform him that the test had not been done because they were "too busy". I asked if he had received his insulin in the morning and they said that he had not. When I asked the clerk why she said she did not know why.

These people are supposed to be in the business of HEALING animals, not putting them in danger of diabetic shock, coma or organ failure.

If they are "too busy" to perform a test scheduled days in advance then they need to stop taking appointments until they get their calendar in order.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO THIS CLINIC!!!!!!
