First impression:

Not many changes from previous ownership. Fresh paint here, there and in restrooms. Quite a few new flatscreen TVs and the prices have gone up.



The Good:

The first night crowd was mixed with quite a few local/regulars, folks that the old management had run off & out of area visitors. It's fair to say that the unofficial opening was a success for the new owner.



The not so good:

The wait staff, although enthusiastic, don't quite have a handle on products & pricing yet. The new owner has made it clear that he's not concerned about catering to a local/regular crowd. He's more interested in upscaling his clientele. Hey, that's OK, his business, his prerogative.

For the most friendly staff in all of the Spring bars that I have visited. I would recommend this bar to anyone on this side of town. The atmosphere is beautiful, something right from a beach setting. With free shuffleboard to all of the specials just giving away the booze. We had so much fun at Beach Bums and did not have to dress up at all. This bar is so laid back and comfortable, we will be back every weekend, just to see what is going on. There is something going on in this bar every night, I just don't know if we can call off of work every day, LOL! The owners have always greeted us and the staff knew our names and exactly what we drank on our second visit. They do not serve any food but the owners said we could bring in food any time.So we would recommend making time to come out and see the bar for yourself.

This is such a nice, refreshing place to have in the neighborhood. Friendly, open, lots to do. No more Molly's Pub for us!! I wish they had steal tip darts instead of electronic, but there is shuffle board and pool to boot. Can't beat that. It's extremely clean and well-kept, ladies.

Not only is it hot as all get out in that bar (with ceiling fans every square foot they don't even have on, they rather let the Texas heat in at the door being propped open) but the whole wait staff is HIGHLY unorganized whom some are rude and the music is obnoxiously loud you end up losing your voice from trying to talk to your friends all night. I just recently went to Beach Bums and for once in my entire life was I thrown out....after I tipped the bartender (the one who told me I had to leave) 25 dollars on not even a $100 tab!!! I was told to leave because I was "talking really loud, yelling at one of the bartenders, and being rude about my bar tab". IT'S A BAR!! I didn't know you weren't allowed to talk loud in a bar and openly discuss your bar tab with someone else. When I asked to close out my tab, it took about a good 15 minutes to get that done while my husband was waiting on me to leave. The bartender set my card on top of the little tray with all the lemons and cherries inside, and gave me some attitude like I read her mind that she had already given me my card. I then told her she can't just lay someone's credit card down somewhere on the bar without their knowledge, that's how you can get it stolen!! I just do not trust them there. My bill was incredibly high for poor quality and very small glasses for your mixed drinks. I do tend to call and complain to the owner. I just think that for a BAR, I was DEFINITELY wrongly accused of things so ridiculous and had been thrown out for no obvious legit reasons! I will NEVER go to this bar ever again, and I highly recommend to everyone else to do the same, you're just setting yourself up for a disappointment!
