Dr. Guss received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Harvard University and went on to attain a Master’s of Science in Radiation Biology from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. He then graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Guss completed an internal medicine internship at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California and returned to Johns Hopkins University to pursue a residency in radiation oncology. As a senior resident, he received the Frank L. Coulson Award for Clinical Excellence. Dr. Guss is experienced in advanced radiation techniques including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy for a broad range of cancer types and benign conditions. He has presented his research at United States and international radiation oncology meetings, published numerous articles in scientific journals, authored several chapters in oncology textbooks, and received numerous academic honors and awards.
