Loomis was the worst experience i have ever had with an employer!

I'm going to break this down into four categories. Managment, staff, workday, and compensation.

Management

All the managers come from security backrounds. Non of them went to business school. This makes the management insecure about their jobs because they do not know how to properly execute business strategies, and implement policies.
They will be your best friend when they need something from you. As soon as you start making requests, or asking reasonable questions they turn on you. They are shady. you will never get more than a surface conversation from them, and you will hardly see them unless their discipling you for some asinine reason. To them it's all about the bottom line. They are so greedy they take on business they can't handle, and underbid contracts by huge margins. Which means less pay, and more hours out on the streets for the workers, to the point of exhaustion. And to top it off they do not show any appreciation.
They build NO value for their customers, or employees.
They are 20 years behind technology, and do not keep up with current business trends.
its all about spending the least amount of money, to make the most amount of money. Bottom line is you cannot be productive in the enviorment they create. They set you up for failure out of the gate.

Staff

Alot of the staff are good people.
But the low life's out of the bunch destroy it for everyone. The few that are the rotten apples cause low morale among staff members, try to micromanage everything you do, and try to make you look like a fool whenever possible. Which I could never really understand because there really is no money to be made, and no advancement opportunity.

Workday

The workday consisted of waking up extremely early (around 4am everyday). But not for any safety reasons, or to get home early. But because there is so much work if you don't leave early enough you cannot possibly make your stops on time. Some routes consisted of driving more than an hour before arriving at the first stop.
Waking up in the morning was a daunting task. The building was built in the 1950s, and nothing has been replaced since then. It is dimly lit, and so dirty, and dusty. Just knowing I had to go to that god awful building made me contemplate driving into a tree several times.
Being in the back of a Loomis truck for ten hours a day I can honestly say is probably like going through open heart surgery without being put to sleep. I wanted to throw up several times because most of the drivers don't care that you are in the back. All they care about is getting home early. It's like having sea sickness for 10 straight hours.

Compensation

If you have a family to feed I highly recommend NOT taking a job at Loomis. Unless you have a significant other who also works. As a part time employee of Loomis they will give you just enough hours not to leave, and will come in to work any time they call. When, or if, you can get a full time route the only thing from being a hard and efficient worker will get you is more work! You have to be willing to drag your feet in order to make any real money from Loomis.

Bottomline there are so many problematic fundamental issues at work within the Loomis Organization it would take a 30 page essay to explain in full.
This company was the worst experience I have ever had.
You will be so stressed out at this company you will end up in an early grave.
They do not hold themselves to high standards what so ever.
If you are looking for personal growth, and a balanced life. I highly advise NOT to take a job with this company. You will make just as much money at a regular security company, and be much better off. The Loomis organization creates a toxic work place for its workers. And will eventually become insolvent.
