this place is ok! but if you need to get a return note after the fact of being on antiobotic for 1 day and you still feel crappy .they won't change your note to a different day and they are rude as hell to you.Go to your reg doctor if you can .theres such things as hipper laws.a front desk worker has no right to tell you that you should feel ok after antibiotics in one day.plys be rude to you. This place deserves to be reported

Look, the wait is about as expected for any walk-in clinic in the area. Just have some patience. Check-in was quick and easy with little paperwork. The doc knew right away exactly what was wrong (scratched cornea) and I was on my way. This is a great alternative to the ER.

Horrible Place, you have to wait a 2 hours to see a PA not even a doctor.

Ridiculous wait time

I arrive on a beautiful sunny june day when no one would choose to be at the doctor. Only to find an hour and half wait and every chair taken with standing room only. I think the numbe of people waitin probably violated fire code.

Several of my family members and myself have been patients here. We have had a great experience every time. It is busy at times, and that's a good thing. It means to me that lots of people like the high quality care here. For us, this is a lot less expensive than the ER for a non-emergency situation. The staff is very friendly and professional and I am glad to know that this is here. If you don't have to wait in the emergency room, this is a great alternative. No hassles.

Extremely convenient medical facility with incredible staff!! Been there on several occasions (over 6 times with my elderly mother and kids). I wish they were capable of being my primary care physicians and medical staff. I have visited during weekends and weekdays. Sometimes there could be a wait, but you will have that anywhere- but it is BETTER THEN WAITING IN A E.R! Clean, efficient, friendly, and upbeat location with excellent staff.

I HIGHLY recommend Urgent Care of Southbury, despite any of the reviews below.

I've been to this clinic twice...

I've been to this clinic twice on different occasions, both on weekends (and "desperate", otherwise I would have gone to my PCP for medical help).

The first time was a bacterial infection in my throat, which they said "Looks like a viral infection, wait it out" and pushed me out the door. After another two weeks of it getting worse, I called them and told them it wasn't getting better and they suggested I come in again to look at it, but they would charge me -again-. I went to my PCP instead, who took one look and said "this doesn't look viral, and I don't know how they would have thought it was". Prescribed an antibiotic and I felt better in 48 hours.

The second experience was more recent, but the same exact story. I went for a problem and Urgent Care said "Hmm it looks like x" and prescribed treatment. 10 days later it hasn't gotten any better, so I called my PCP who again said, "It doesn't look like x to me". Then took care of me.

Bottom line: I've visited Urgent Care twice, and Urgent Care has misdiagnosed me twice. A waste of time and money.

The motto is "where the doctor...

The motto is "where the doctor waits for you". It is all about the patient waiting and waiting. I was first to arrive at 845am for 9am opening. I was first to be taken in a room. Lots of laughter outside and socializing and I could hear people being brought into other rooms and being talked to by assistants/dr. At 930 I had to leave and no one ever came back to explain the delay or even to lie and say "just a few more minutes". No magazines in the individual rooms. Last 2 times I visited I said I would never go back, and this time I really mean it.

Expensive especially if no insurance. Seems more like a money making scheme rather than facility that wants to help. Might as well go to the ER

I got something stuck in my ear, and the Dr. took it out with "alligator scissors". This process took all of 30 seconds. I was billed nearly $400, they claim that this was an invasive procedure, thus the higher rate. If I am at death's door, I will never step foot in this facility.

I have visited Southbury Urgent Care several times over the past few years and have always received excellent care. Only one time, on a Saturday, did I have a long long wait time to see a doctor. The only drawback I can see is that the wait room is small and when there was many people there I waited in the foyer. When there was a problem with my new insurance, last time I visited, they resoved it immediately the same day I called and assured me that I could visit any time.

Total Rip Off!

This place will steal your money like there is no tomorrow. Went in because I was feeling really really sick. The just looked at my, took my blood pressure, and did a strep test, which came back negative. Told me there was nothing wrong with me and handed me a bill for $132! No joke. That much. The Dr. had told me since I had no insurance I would get money off, almost 50%, and then once I hit the receptionist she only gave me $20 off the bill like that was some big deal. I know they're a business and they need to make money, but they hardly looked at me. I went to a real doctor a few days later and found out I had a bad sinus infection. Too bad they didn't catch that. Icing on the cake: I got another bill 2 weeks later for another strep test - they had sent my sample out to a lap to have extra tests done without my knowledge and I thought I had paid enough!
