Scratch Baking Co opened in June of 2004 as One Fifty Ate Willard Square. Owners Bob Johnson, Allison Reid and Sonja Swanberg envisioned a grab-and-go bakery to supply their neighborhood with breads, bagels, sweet treats, and things that go with bread. We have grown the bakery quite a bit since the early days, expanded our space, and increased the number of items we make. In December of 2006 we changed our name to Scratch Baking Co to better describe our mission of providing quality products with personality that reflect the joy and bounty of every season. We continually refine what we learn, and how to best grow our business to reflect our ideals ; combining great food and neighborhood spirit. The environment you will find is personal, welcoming and good natured.... our goal is to throw a party every day.

We grab bagels, coffee and cream cheese. The bagels are really special. They are light and crusty. The bagels taste like French bread but have the feel of bagels. Not too doughy and very light

This is our local, allowing us to be able to walk home with a baguette tucked under our arms just as they do in France! And the bread is the first to make my Montreal family declare 'really good' (they used to bring their own when visiting me).I love it!
