I have taken my Australian Shepherd here for 6 years. She has always gotten great care here. When Sofi developed diabetes, they were very helpful in instructing me how to care for her, and Sofi is doing great! Even though I live 27 miles away, I wouldn't take her anywhere else.

Every once in awhile you come across a person who is extraordinary at one's job and an incredibly caring person at the same time and I found a person like this in Dr. Stephanie Meyer, DVM. These types of people make a resounding impact on your well-being (or your dog's) and you'll not soon forget them.

Dr. Stephanie Meyer, DVM is employed at the Integrative Medicine Unit of Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital. She has cared for my dog for several years and I am so grateful for the amount time, thoroughness of the examinations and the willingness to ensure my dog is comfortable during the examination and treatment therapies. My dog has numerous conditions due to a couple of injuries caused by a horse and also a rescue dog that has some emotional fragility due to her first human owner. Dr. Meyer is always looking out to ensure I'm comfortable as well because my dog has been very reactive with other dogs at the office and makes sure we can safely exit the facility conflict-free.

Dr. Meyers is extremely well educated but approachable and so positive in talking with people. You will not be disappointed with the treatment if you take your small animal to her practice. She works with many animals such as dogs and even horses. She is passionate about animals and treats them with respect, kindness and dignity. Dr. Meyer uses traditional veterinary medicine combined with a naturopathic approach to healing animals and practices techniques such as acupuncture, chiropractic and other approaches.

My dog thrives under the care of Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital and Stephanie Meyer. I truly believe and think your animals will as well. She is top-notch and I won't go anywhere else. Dr. Jeffrey Duke, DVM is also a great Vet. You can read her bio here: http://www.pilchuckvet.com/integrative-medicine/doctors-staff

Recently we took our 5yr old female Maltese into the hospital as she was not eating and not drinking. At first we assumed she may be experiencing first-pregnancy hormone changes but it didn't seem to be getting any better after 2 days so we took her in. The first Dr. on call did an ultrasound and saw three enlarged objects (Puppies) in her uterus and said she might be pregnant. The Dr. needed more tests run but the person at the desk did not know how to run our insurance card so we turned away and had to just take Kylee home and wait 6 hours until the insurance company & the day shift at the hospital could communicate with each other to clear up the account. Later that day we brought Kylee back in and more tests were conducted, culture came back negative, e-ray showed three formations in her uterus, which the second Dr. called Pyometra and said it was life threatening and that Kylee needed surgery right away. We did just that and got a call right after the surgery from yet another Dr. who said that the surgery went well but that it wasn't Pyometra but that Kylee was pregnant with 3 pups and they went ahead and terminated the pregnancy and spayed her. Our family was in shock. To this day no real cause has been found for Kylee's initial symptoms. Kylee will never have any puppies which we were so looking forward to because she is such a beautiful dog. One thing that will stick in mind was the comment the surgery Dr. made during the call to me after the surgery had taken place. I told him that how could they not tell the difference between Pyometra & Pregnancy and he said, "If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, we think it's a duck." This totally disgusted me! I will say that Kylee is better now but would she have just gotten better on her own, did she really need to be spayed? Questions that I will always have unanswered. Thanks for reading this review.

HORRIBLE TREATMENT! We took our puppy to Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital as he was lethargic and would not eat or drink. We were advised to have our puppy spend the night at the clinic for observation. When we picked up up our puppy the next day we were told they could not figure out what was wrong with him and that he barked too much in the kennel. To mitigate the barking, they sedated him in his kennel and when that did not work they sprayed him with water! That is the level of compassion for animals $1,100 buys you at this facility.

Pilchuck has yet to get back to me as they would torment a scared, little puppy with a water bottle.

PLEASE READ this review. MY dog was attacked by a neighbor cat and suffered some eye scratches. It was Saturday evening and I was concerned that I should not wait until my vet could see him on Monday. I had had a very bad experience at ANOTHER 24 vet in Snohomish county and short of driving 50 miles, Pilchuck was my only choice. The reviews were terrible so I called after telling them I was coming and addressed the complaints and the tales of high prices. She told me the office visit was $90 and change. Honestly, thats maybe $20.00 more than my regular vet and I think he is pretty reasonable. Pilchuck has state of the art everything and to be viable that they have to charge for it but this was not expensive for Saturday evening at nine PM. The test I got was $38.00 instead of $28.00 from my vet. The meds I got were 25% more than my vet. So I did not think that was unreasonable at all... I got out of there with $150.00 ( inc tax) and peace of mind that Steve was OK. One notable thing is that I saw at least 5 staff in there as well as the doc I saw. Who knows who else was there. BUT I was there for more than an hour and in that time there were only three pets there ...I can promised you.. in the time frame I was there they lost money. My level of care was good..maybe even excellent. I had full confidence that Steve was being cared for correctly. All the staff was very very nice.. on the verge of being solicitous. I think they handled the matter of charges well... The OTHER 24 very clinic I went to required a $500.00 deposit on my Visa before they agreed to see my animal. So being told what my costs were up front and not paying until after my services were done was most reasonable. If I had one legit complaint it might be that the span of time seemed a little long at every step but I had no idea what else they had going on so I am going to give them grace there as well..One final word... my experience there was greatly colored by all the negative reviews. I was worried at every turn that they were going to tell me something extraordinary was wrong and they never did... so If I could have gone in there with no expectation one way or the other, I would have been even more satisfied and given them a rating of excellent. I almost feel I am unfairly rating them but I was nervous. So I hope that you read this review and take it to heart. When people complain about expense, #1.. you don't know what they think is expensive.. so give the vets grace there... and #2 realize for them to be there, when you really need them, costs a lot of money to maintain that facility. I hope this helps you feel more confident.

Noone should be treated this way!

After hearing of a friend's recent experience with this ER, I have to put my 2 cents worth in!

5 years ago I went to PVH with a boxer that had delivered 1 puppy and 6 stillborns. I went to their reproduction speicalist, and he said to rebreed her and under his care, she should have a normal delivery. $2000 later my dog went into labor, delivered 1 puppy and had no more contractions. We raced into PVH because all of her records were there and thought that they would give her the best treatment considering they knew her case. We arrived at 2am and the entire hospital smelled of DMSO from a horse they were treating. I asked for an ultra sound to see if the puppies were still alive and I was denied. Xrays and ocitocin were given and we were put in an exam room, and ignored. We had no blankets, no towels, the room was covered in birthing material, and my husband had to go to our vehicle to get the blankets and towels we had brought for the drive. I was screaming for them to do a csection and the "vet" wouldn't do it. It appeared that their DMSO horse was more important.

The csection wasn't started until 8 am when the regular staff came in. I wasn't allowed to take my dog back for pre surgery prep, and was asked to leave. 3 hours later, I was called to come pick up my dog. They delivered 8 dead puppies. It doesn't take 3 hours for an emergency csection, and they sent my dog home in shock. When I sent my husband in to get help, they sent their receptionist out, and she obviously had all the experience to tell us she was OK? My dog had an unusual name, and they always acted like they had no idea who I was talking about when I said her name.

$300 for emergency, and $2000 for a csection that was not done in a timely manner. When I later talked to the 2 Vets that oversaw this, they were not sympathetic.

I will NEVER give these people 1 penny or let them touch another of my beloved dogs! They should not call themselves Vets, when they don't care about the safety of your pets.
