This bakery, building is 75 years old with 50 year old dilapidated equipment inside, produced with idiotic union rules and labor force that has steadily been trimmed of products and people and is now running two shifts of only one product. Bread. There is no QA in the plant.
With 35 people in the entire plant left, It is on the razors edge of being closed like so many Bimbo plants Bimbo has bought, not for production increases but to eliminate their competition.
With competent maintenace management retiring or leaving it requires whole maintenance crews and their management from Sioux City, repair even though the facility has a large maintenance department of its own. The incompetence comes from the newly appointed “supervisor” who was a lead before and sits in the air conditioned office drinking quart bottles of pop all day which contributes to his obesity. In interviews they will lie, promising you a shift they know they can’t promise because of the union rules on seniority
