Very disappointed with service from Peterson. They came out to fix our furnace. The part was expensive and the service was too. Total bill was over $450. a few weeks later, we noticed a funny smell in the basement like gas. It was late, so I evacuated the family and called MidAmerican and they came out and closed a small gas leak, but noted it was caused by recent work done on the furnace. It was within the 30 day warranty that Peterson's offers, but when I called to complain and ask for reduction of price for the work (not the part), I was told it was 20 days old and that I should've called Peterson's to fix it! I gladly paid them for the part, but not the labor because of their 30 day warranty. They DID NOT honor their 30 day warranty! They threatened to turn me in to collections! The owner refused to call me and discuss it, claiming he is a serviceman not a book keeper. We won't do business here again!

Called this business because our air conditioner was not cooling at start of the extremely hot Memorial Day weekend. Tech arrived after 5, so we were immediately charged the overtime rate. Tech claimed there was a "major leak" in the refrigerant line, but no way to tell exactly where so it could be repaired. Only option, in his opinion, was to recharge it for the weekend then get his company's bid on a new unit. Since I am a recovering cancer patient and require a cool environment we reluctantly agreed. The charge lasted only 14 hours. We were able to coax a family friend who is also a refrigeration tech to come have a look. He quickly located the leak, let us see it for ourselves and repaired it in 30 minutes. He said it was ridiculous for Peterson tech to claim the leak could not be located or repaired. Peterson's charge for the call was $516. I have tried to call the owner three separate times, but he is "unavailable" and refuses to return my calls. Please DO NOT attempt to use this company!

Good Guys

Although my repair needs are few and far between, I always call these guys. Their techs have always been friendly, efficient, and professional. Jason is an especially great guy; technically sharp and very friendly.

Dependable Company who knows what their doing!

Peterson A/C & Heating has been servicing my equipment for over 10 years. They have always been honest and have always looked out for my best interest, unlike other companies who try to sell you parts/equipment that's not quit right for your home. Prices are very competiive and thier service is wonderful. Any concerns were addressed promptly with consideration, concern, and always resolved on a positive manner. I would highly recommend Peterson's; an honest company, with wonderful staff and knowledgeable service techs.

Unsatisified customer

We had Peterson come out because our heat pump was not maintaining the temperature. They have come out twice to work on our unit over the last two weeks, $500 later, the unit is still not working correctly. I have called them but they will charge us again to come to look at it again. It has never worked correctly since they came the first time.

Satisfied Customer

I've had Petersons do a few repairs on my HVAC system. The workers have always been careful, thorough, polite, and friendly.I had a C.W.S. guy come out to bid on the installation of an A/C evaporator that I had purchased myself online. He insisted on putting their own in, told me the capacitor was bad on my compressor motor, and that its relay was bad. I found that they actually broke the relay open to make the diagnosis. I'm an electrical engineer, and I inspected the capacitor and relay myself, and they were fine, and have been for years now. Shameful. I called Petersons and they said they'd put my evaporator in, no problem. They did a great job and at a great price. It saved me about $500.I'm looking for a replacement furnace now. I am going to Petersons without hesitation.

Ripped Off

Sevice technicians are incompetent and the owner will not respond to phone calls to discuss problems. They were unable to correctly diagnos the problem with my HVAC system. Replaced parts that eventually proved to be unneccessary. Technician lied about part he had replaced claiming it was a manufacture defect but when he install a another new part(of the same type) the system still did not work, he then left for the night with no heat in the house. I had to demand a differnet techinicain come to the house the next day. He said the other techinician had not preformed the right system test and the parts replaced where unnecessary. Bottom line paid over $600.00 for nothing. Also found out afterward that this company has been sued several times in Woodbury Couty Court because of similiar issues. Check public records. Do NOT do business with Peterson's Heating and Air Conditioning.
