In 1921, George and his brother Bud Rutter the Rutter brothers, founded Rutter s Farm Stores. They distributed their farm products from a horse-drawn wagon to their customers in the beginning. The company opened its additional outlet for the sale of Rutter s dairy products in 1967 and has grown into a chain of more than 50 stores. Rutter s Farm Stores initially served the customers in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey. In 2005, Rutter s Holdings was formed as a parent company for Rutter s Farm Stores, as well as its affiliates that include Rutter s Dairy and M&G Realty. The company participates in community service and offers contributions to various organizations that are focused on children s welfare. Rutter s Farm Stores provides a selection of hot and cold beverages, cakes, pizzas, doughnuts, snacks, sandwiches, cheeseburgers and salads. In addition, the company offers a fleet fueling program and business cards to its customers. Rutter s Farm Stores operates a store in New Freedom, Pa.
