Forest Park Funeral Home provides unique services to celebrate unique lives in Shreveport, LA. Our team of licensed funeral directors are here to help you through some of the most difficult times you may encounter. Having to make funeral, cremation, or memorial arrangements for a loved one is emotionally challenging. We are here to provide compassionate care for your loved one, and to guide you step-by-step through the process of planning and holding a meaningful celebration of life. We have the options and flexibility to help every family, whether you are wanting traditional or more contemporary services, and religious or non-religious. One of our top priorities is making sure to honor the personal requests and traditions your family and friends hold dear when celebrating a beautiful life lived. Our 15,000-square foot facility houses a large funeral home chapel, staterooms, a pallbearer room, child play room, beverage station, and a spacious foyer area. The Forest Park Funeral Home started out as Wellman Funeral Home in 1896. The original building was located across the street. In 1975, the owners of Wellman Funeral Home decided to build the larger, current facility. For many years the funeral home was owned by a couple different corporations. In 2001, Robert ""Bob"" Lomison purchased the building along with nearby Forest Park cemeteries. With the purchase, Bob brought back the family-owned status and changed the name to Forest Park Funeral Home. Today, the funeral facility continues to serve the Shreveport community with dignified memorials, personalized options, and excellent service. We provide all options imaginable from full service funerals to cremations, veteran services, and merchandise selection. Our merchandise includes caskets, vaults, and urns. Choosing services, a casket, or an urn for your loved one (or for yourself) can be one of the most personal, heartfelt decisions you are faced with. We can guide you towards unique, fitting options that will feel special to you while honoring your budget. One way to establish peace of mind for the future is to pre-plan your funeral, cremation, or memorial services. By figuring out your wishes and desires in advance, your family and friends can have their burdens lessened later when it comes to making arrangements. Pre-planning allows you to make funeral decisions that best reflect your life and traditions, with a clear, practical mind. In addition, you have flexible options to either set aside funds for your plan now and lock-in current funeral costs, or choosing not to pay anything now. Forest Park Funeral Home is part of the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association (ICCFA), and the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association. We are also members of the Veterans and Family Memorial Care network. Whether you are needing immediate assistance or interested in pre-planning services, we are just a phone call away and ready to help you. Call our team at (318) 221-7181.

Our experience with Forest Park, and specifically Kevin Hurd, given the circumstances, couldn't have better. It was a dreadful situation involving a sudden and unexpected death in another state hundreds of miles away a few days before Christmas, yet Kevin was totally helpful and calming. The service itself was what we wanted - respectful, peaceful, and providing closure for family and friends. I couldn't recommend this place more highly.
