Many American kids grew up visiting military surplus stores. These establishments typically thrived after the end of our big wars - offering endless supplies of the goods that powered our great military - but items no longer needed as a nation scurried to downsize its armed forces.



But times change and now the hometown surplus store is largely gone and many of the ones that survive sell little surplus and lots of knock-off items made in China.



Weekend Warrior is a throwback to the golden era when small boys would gawk at the smelly green items within its walls while dreaming of great military battles yet to come.



This store not only has an attractive owner but an equally attractive collection of genuine GI surplus. Yes, there is some Rothco made in communist China junk but the amount of real surplus far outweighs these low quality replicas.
