My daughter enjoyed going to this daycare for a little over a year. She always came home happy talking about her day. She cared for her teachers, and you could tell they cared for her. I never had to worry about her during the day. I knew she was safe and in good hands.

I just love this daycare! They are very safe and secure and organized. I love that they have separate rooms for each age range and the play area in the back is perfect for a rainy day and rambunctious kiddos. They do a very good job with the children and keep them very active in learning, play and being creative. I totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe, educational and fun environment for their kids!

I had my son in Apple Tree for less than a year. The teachers are nice, but the Director, Debbie is a horrible person! She is the only reason we are no longer at the school. VERY RUDE, Condescending, and Snarky. I am sure now that I have posted a negative review, she will have quite a few positive ones to follow in the next few days. As you can see with the FOUR positive reviews all posted on the same day. Three of which were edited below.. hmm.
If you are really thinking of sending your child to this school do your research. If you search Apple Tree Preschool on Facebook look for comments in Shelton town pages you will see more realistic reviews. It is unfortunate that the owner has to stoop so low to have friends/herself post reviews on her behalf.

I am also very pleased with the care that my children receive at this center. I was looking for a school that not only would teach my children but also a school that they would feel comfortable at and I definitely found that at Apple Tree. I truly believe that the center is a home away from home, with the caring teachers providing a fun learning environment.

Very happy parent!
I went to visit Apple Tree and needless to say this was the school for my children. I really liked the individual classrooms and the separation from the infants and the toddlers. And no half walls like most of the schools that I went to. I also like how long the teachers have been with the center. That really meant a lot to me. The indoor play area was the really big hit with my children. I am very happy with the care that my children receive at this center.

My children have been going to this center for the last 2 years and I am very happy with the care that they receive. They both started in the infant room and one is now a toddler the other a preschooler and I agree with the other reviews very helpful and caring teachers in every room. My children are always very excited to go to school. The Director is very hands on with the day to day activities and always adding new elements to the center either materials, equipment and even the curriculum. I am very happy that my children are well cared for- it makes going to work alot easier.

My stepdaughter, now 14, attended Apple Tree from ages 2 through 5 and had a great experience. Naturally, Apple Tree was on the top of our list when we needed a daycare for our son. Unfortunately we waited too long and Apple Tree did not have an opening for the days we needed at the time so we enrolled him elsewhere. After 7-8 months at the other facility and a very disappointing experience, we were able to move our son (age 1 at the time) to Apple Tree. He is now 3 and loves his school! The center is clean and well organized and the staff is so kind. Our son especially loves the indoor play room, or “dinosaur room” as many know it, which is a great way for young kids to burn off that toddler energy when they can’t play outside in the age appropriate spaces due to weather. Our son will “graduate” from preschool in June but we fully intend on utilizing the summer camp as long as they’ll have us!

I have had nothing but great experiences with this center. I have 3 children from infant all the way through school age and the teachers and the Director have been nothing but helpful throughout the entire process. They truly treat you like family.

The teachers and the Director are very hands-on with the center and provide me with daily reports of my children's day. Love that the teachers are not on cell phones like other centers. Many teachers have been with the center for 10 years plus and I can say that is very refreshing. My older son loved Apple Tree so much he now works there and has been there since he was in high school and now attends college and still works there and my mother also works in the infant room and has also been with the center for years and both a very happy at the center.

My wife Nancy has attended holiday and school functions and everything is run very well it is organized and all the kids are happy.

I recommend Apple Tree to family and friends and they are also very happy, I say tour the center and see for yourself. I am very glad that we found Apple Tree!

My son used to go to Apple Tree from infant to toddler and I have mixed feelings about this daycare. The school is very well designed, has ample rooms for each age group and the outside areas are great. All the teachers were also nice.
My son got bit around 5 times the whole time he was there which was obviously very upsetting to me but understood sometimes it's difficult to prevent. Parking is very limited and you are asked to drop off and pick up your kids quickly which I didn't like because I liked to talk to the teachers about how my kid did that day.
I did not like how the kids got moved from class to class depending on how many kids were around so that the number of teachers was also at the bare minimum. Almost never did I pick up my kid at the same room I dropped him off in the morning. Not a big deal but not a fan either.
Now the reason why I left the center is the owner/director. You will see nothing but smiles when you tour the school but I found her extremely difficult to deal with. She was rude to children, teachers and parents. Just not a good example for kids. I tried to keep my son at this school because I thought it would be hard to switch him but for the money I was paying I didn't want to have to deal with someone so disrespectful.

I had two children in Apple Tree over the past few years, and while the teachers are great (Miss. Marcia and Miss. Jackie/preschool teachers) the ONLY teachers that have been there for years. (So keep that in mind when reading “current teacher reviews”, that state they have worked for the center for years, the director writes her own reviews).

The director Debbie is a Nightmare. She does not care about the children, the families, or the staff. She cares about her money, and that’s it. When you put your 30 day notice in writing that fake smile turns nasty real quick. You may not her ask any questions after the notice is in. I made that mistake! She started yelling at me in front of the children, and told me if I say anything she will kick my son out today! Needless to say asking questions in her book deems you a “Behavioral problem” which on her grounds means she can keep your deposit. Clearly she needs it more than I do.

I really wish the center was owned by someone else, because it could be such a great school. The teachers put up with so much, I give them so much credit. It is sad, there are new faces every few weeks.

I have never been verbally harassed before by someone who is in childcare, especially someone who I trusted to be around my child. She had the nerve to tell me, a paying customer.. that “I am a big girl, and my problems are not hers”. Far from understanding or caring.

Please do your research before you get yourself locked in her “rules”.

I have 2 children and they started in the Infant room and one is now toddler and the other is in the preschool room and we are very happy with the care that they receive. From the teachers who are caring and loving to the Director who has been nothing but helpful with ever single transition. My children are always happy and never want to go home. I really think of this school as family. I can go to work ever day with a piece of mind knowing that my children are very well cared for. Thank-you Apple Tree you are the BEST!

My wife and I toured many centers and I have to say that we were both very impressed with Apple Tree, from the teachers to the clean classrooms, this is the type of place that we were looking for. After being with the center for over a year we can honestly say that we still feel the same way. We are treated like family and when ever we have questions the Director and the teachers are very helpful. It is no surprise that we will be placing our second child with them. I have recommended them to others and will continue to do so. We are a very happy parents!

You get what you pay for. We liked Apple Tree on the tour and found the price affordable and the staff pleasant. However, Debbie the director has been unbearable to deal with from the moment we became paying customers. Prior to receiving our check to enroll, she was kind and helpful with answering questions we had but once we committed and our son attended, she showed her true colors as heartless and unwilling to answer questions if it did not benefit her. We are truly disappointed with the lack of professionalism and will be switching our son out in the next few weeks.

Both of my sons attend this center and I am very happy with the care that they receive. We are welcomed every morning by the director and the teachers. The security is great and the center is very clean. I was extremely impressed with the indoor play area and the outdoor areas are very large as well. The Pre-K program really did prepare my child for Kindergarten. From one happy parent, I highly recommend Apple Tree.

This center is very clean, well organized and the teachers and the Director Debbie are great. I have never had a problem with my child's care. I work right around the corner from the center and I pop in from time to time and my child with all the other children are very busy. My child started as an infant and is now a preschooler we have been with the center for almost 3 years. Loving and caring staff and very helpful when ever I needed to ask a question. I am also a big fan of their sick child policy. Most centers leave the sick kids in the rooms and do not call the parents, not this center they care about the well being of all the children in their care. I highly recommend Apple Tree!

I have had nothing put a good experience with this center. Clean and very well organized. I was very happy with the care that my children received. As for the negative comment- I am confused, I was never rushed and the Director and the teachers were very accommodating. I did however see many parents try to leave their children unattended in the center and the Director politely asked them to bring them with them for safety and security reasons, which I strongly agree with. Check the center out for yourself, I highly recommend it.

I love this school! My daughter was at home with her aunt and I noticed that she needed to be with other children her age for a few days a week - I wanted her to socialize more. Needless to say that she was very, very shy- we visited many schools and I have to say that we were both very over welled with all the schools that are out there. Sure everyone offers different things, but I believe that once we visited Apple Tree that was the school. Nice, organized classrooms, not to mention how warm and welcoming everyone was, it really did feel like a great place to learn and grow. I was very impressed. We have been with the center for over 6 months now and I am still a very happy parent- I am glad that we found this center and I am very glad that my daughter is happy and making new friends.

My family has had nothing but great experiences at this center. After all we trust them with our most prized possesions. They have very flexible schedules and are very willing to work with parents. The teachers and the director are great always willing to lend a helping hand. My children never want to come home and this tells me that they are not only comfortable with the center but that they really do have fun learning new things. Very happy that I found this center, I have recommended them to many and will continue to do so.

My family is very happy with the care that my son receives at Apple Tree! He has learned so many things. We enrolled him in their preschool program when he was 3, and he is now 5 and will be starting kindergarten in the fall and we know that he is well prepared for the classroom environment. I chose Apple Tree for many reasons but the most important one was that the preschool teachers had all been with the center for quite some time and they are very loving and caring towards the children. I really feel like Apple Tree is a part of our family! He just loves going to school and when I pick him up at night he is very excited to show me all the things that he has learned. I really believe that Apple Tree has made my sons first school experience a memorialable one and we thank them for that.

I am very happy with the care that my children receive at this daycare. The teachers and the director are very friendly not only to me but to other family members that tend to pick them up. I work just around the corner from the daycare and I pop in from time to time and my children are always doing something different and it is always nice to see the teachers interacting with the children and not just letting the children play by themselves. I would recommend this center to others and I have!
