A totally professional experience with a beautiful finish. The team that came to my house were extremely polite and clearly demonstrated a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. The stamped concrete custom porch project was completed as promised and the value we received for dollar invested was significant. They did an awesome job of cleaning up after the work was completed.

As with anything in life there are usually some good points and some bad points about everything. The same is true with Mertke Cement. I hired Don Mertke to replace my drive in September of 2017... (approx 7 months ago). Don's quotes was mid range of the quotes I received. I found Don to be responsive when I called, and on time for our meetings. He and his crew were polite and they cleaned up the job site when they were
finished.
Now for the not so good aspects of Mertke cement. In Jan 2018, approx 4 months after the job was done I noted that my driveway had heaved slightly over 1". This happened even though I had paid an additional $600.00 for the drive to be tied together with rebar.
In March 2018, approx 6 months after the job was done, I noted approx 25' of fine cracking in the newly poured concrete. I suspect that this was due to the heaving described above. I called Mertke concrete at that time and left a message for Don to call. Further, since i did not hear from him I texted him in an attempt to resolve these two issues. As of today he has not responded to me and I have since sealed the 25' of cracks on my own. I will update this review upon a successful resolution. I've included several pictures to show the issues I have had with my newly poured concrete drive.

Do not hire him. In 2007, he put in a new garage floor, driveway, and back patio. Since the first rain, our flat driveway has squares that remain filled with water after it rains or snows, leaving puddles and eventual huge dark stained areas. The worst is the (attached) garage floor that HOLDS water and snow until it finally evaporates, which takes a very long time. Our garage floor and driveway were not done correctly, or these issues would not exist. Also, they crookedly installed a basketball pole into the driveway. It's not straight and has irritated me for years. I was very disappointed from the get go, and after telling them about the issues, they were unwilling to fix anything. No integrity. Truly awful, embarrassing cement work.

Do not use Mertke - low integrity. We had him put in a stamped concrete patio 2 years ago. The stained finish was never right from the start and he was very condescending about our concerns and had a young kid seal it anyway. Afterward, he told us he would correct it. After 2 years of trying to get him to uphold his committed promise to us to correct the stain work, he finally came out to start the correction - and the workmanship - done by Don himself - was so sloppy and ill installed, we finally called him to tell him we were done trying to deal with him. He seemed genuinley pleased, was very dismissive and couldn't care less about us or the sloppy mess we now have to try to fix. It is a shame because the patio itself is nice, but the finish has never been right and he clearly does not care - because I paid him in full before I was satisfied - that was my fault.

The owner is nice however the work is less than superior. Very sloppy and only willing to fix the job if he gets back into the area. Very unprofessional do not use them.

I tried several times to try to get with you and you do not responded. Call me we always fix any issues or concerns of our costumers. .

I had a driveway installed by Merke Cement, now I am very disappointed. I got three estimates, and his was the most expensive. I figured you get what you pay for, but not in my case. The drive is not smooth, they "floated" or smoothed it by hand. The did not use a large float like professional companies would. My drive is very rough, and looks like a wash board. I have spoken with the owner, Don 2-3 times but he will not come back to my house. Please shop around!
