pain, pelvic reconstruction and urinary/fecal incontinence in women. Dr. Butrick’s post-residency training centered in his area of special interest, which is neurourology. Dr. Butrick has authored many articles and chapters in text books concerning Interstitial Cystitis and pelvic pain. He has had the pleasure of training with specialists in this area both in gynecology, as well as urology. Dr. Butrick was one of the first gynecologists to not only do sacral neuromodulation, but for many years he trained other physicians in this innovative therapy. Additionally, he was one of a handful of physicians selected to train with the inventors’ of the TVT (Transvaginal Tape) in Sweden and has performed over 2000 TVT’s to date. He is past President of the International Society of Pelvic Neuromodulation, as well as the International Pelvic Pain Society. He serves on several editorial boards of medical journals as a reviewer. He also loves teaching and has taught the American Collage of OB/GYN’s postgraduate program on the subject of chronic pelvic pain for over 10 years.
