In the late 1800s, Arodvion Savoe came to America from Fialone, Italy. Although he loved his country, he was in search of the American Dream. At age 19, he moved to Providence, Rhode Island. He had come a long way in a strange country, all alone in search of work. Hard times could not break his strong spirit. He sound found a job and a place to call home. With the absence of his old family, he created his own family. While living in a tenement house, he met a beautiful woman name Laura. They fell and love and had six children. Mary, the oldest, is my grandmother. Everything I know about good Italian cooking, the family, and my heritage, I learned from my grandmother. She instilled in this in me, as her father had done to her. He carried over all the traditions from his hometown that are still alive and practiced everyday. To show gratitude to my grandmother, I will name my own taste of the American Dream after her father, "Ardovino", the originator. I want to share this story, our tradition, our good times, good food and our family with all of you. Enjoy!!! Pauline BYOB Live entertainment on Wednesday Nights. Make your Christmas Plans now.
