We moved to Sevierville in Nov. of 2015. We would drive by the Sassafras Deli/Bakery and wonder about it so we finally stopped in. It is the best. The bakery has the most delicious goodies, their quiches are outstanding and so are their eclairs and cream puffs. But the best of all are their sandwiches. They have the best chicken salad and it is not the usual mayo, celery, and chunks of chicken. It is chicken, cranberries, red onion and nuts all ground up very fine and a very special dressing that just makes it. We buy it by the pound to have at home. They have gluten free rolls which I need when we go. The owners and employees are super nice and we enjoy going there several times a month. Their fresh homemade breads are delicious especially their sour dough and their Black Russian which happens to be my husband's favorite bread from there. Just a great, friendly and delicious place to eat, lunch, early dinner and get dessert or breakfast too.
