My grandparents moved to Seminole County around 1917. They and their very large extended family have used Swearingen Funeral Home for many, many years. Their staff has always been professiional and caring. Personally, they have been of great help to me during my sadest and most stressful of times.



I have the greatest respect for the Swearingens and their staff and would have no reservation in recommendeing them to others.

This funeral home is lack luster at best. I originally choose this home because my family is from Seminole and several of my family members have used Swearingen. My experience, however, has not been pleasant. The director and staff seemed kind when I made arrangements for my Father's funeral, but the problems started the day of the service. People where able to make changes to our program without them consulting myself or any of my siblings. I spent most of the morning trying to straighten things out. Shortly after my father's passing it came to my attention through other family members, that people had been able to inquire at the home about the payment status of my father's account. These people where not even related and I was appauled that they were given information. They have since refused payments from me saying they only accept payment in full. They have contacted people not on the contract for payment. They have continuously told different stories to myself and my siblings. I have since decided to only communicate through email to keep this from happening. I would not recommend this funeral home to anyone. I also found out through research that their prices are considerably higher. No one should have to deal with this kind of unprofessionalism at such a difficult time.
