Since Physicians Insurance issued its first policy, physicians have owned and directed the company s operations for the benefit of fellow physicians. The company was founded under the auspices of the Washington State Medical Association. Physicians Insurance has grown to insure more than 5,300 physicians in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Polices offered by the company include professional liability insurance, corporate/partnership professional liability, health care facility and premium discount programs, which are divided into clinic/group size credit, part-time practice, medical association credit and moonlighting coverage. Headquartered in Seattle, the company has an eastern regional office in Spokane, Wash. Physicians Insurance was founded in 1982.
