The Department Public Works is administered by the government of Schenectady County in New York. It works to provide safe, responsive and efficient highway systems and recreational areas to the citizens of the county. The department manages county s automotive fleet, as well as administers airports and public facilities. The Department Public Works supervises the Office of Facilities and the Office of Parks. It also administers the construction, improvement, maintenance, repair, cleaning and lighting of various highways, roads and bridges. The department oversees several drains and drainage and grade separation structures. The Department Public Works operates the Intermunicipal Highway Shared Services program.
