Chatham Academy, founded in 1978, is an independent school that provides academic and social services to children with learning differences. The school serves more than 100 students in grades one through 12. It offers a college-preparatory curriculum, as well as a practical studies curriculum that provides training in life skills, work ethics and career choices. Based in Savannah, Ga., Chatham Academy offers lessons in an array of subjects that include reading, math, social studies, science, English and physical education. The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the National Commission for the Accreditation of Special Education Services.
