This customer moved to NY from North Port Florida before we stepped foot onto the job. It is true that this job took way longer than expected. North Port experinced storms consistantly for three weeks. If it wasn't raining then it was lightning. This was a 70 foot high oak tree, and the hundreds of limbs were taken down 1 at a time with rope and rigging. It was all climbed by me. I do not climb in storms , rain, or lightening. I received a call about the delay and she was not sympathetic at all to the weather problem. Being that she had moved away, yes, I did want part of the payment up front. She refused and became very irrritated and called another company to bump me and finish the halfway done job, and she would pay them and if there was any left ahe would pay me even though I had already sank $600 into it. Very distressing. I finished the job and had two small tears to a screen (which was right underneath the 70 ft tree)professionaly repaired.It cost me 2,700 out of pocket to do this job and I only charged her 2,900. I made $200. It was $500 per load just to dump the debris. There were 4 loads. A crew that got paid. Also the stump grinding bill was $300. This was all out of my pocket. And I am just hoping she wasn't going to send a bad check. Before she had her friend hand over the check this woman actually forced me to go into a neighboring vacant home and wipe sprinkles of sawdust of of a trashpile they had in their backyard. Among other rediculous hoops they had me jump through. After all that she gives me a bad check. My crew was waiting to get paid and my wife and little girl and newborn needed food and diapers. This lady did not care. She vowed to make me suffer because there was a delay with the job being finished and I had asked her to front part of the money being she was all the way in New York now. After I had an investigator look into her. It was found she had four aliases. I really didn't think she was going to pay, but after a month she finally did. Out of the thousands of customers I have this is the worst person I have ever met in my life, and as I left a message on her machine saying, never , ever, call us again. All of my friends in the business have that home marked to always avoid. I have served thousands of happy customers, and this was a terrible experience and the only terrible experience I have ever had. We have had to revamp our policy now about customers who move out of state. In this case we now have to demand a down payment be cause of this situation with you Anita or whichever alias you are using right now.
