TERRIBLE!!!!! Started with one technician (that I requested) who gave me to another tech (without my permission) so he could do a friend. The new technician didn't know how to paint nails. I had globs of paint and the top coat was blotchy. Her idea of fixing the problem was to pile on more paint. After 2 hours, I left without a fix. Went home to do my own nails. The owner was aware of the problem and did not offer to help solve the problem. Do not bother with this unprofessional business.

This is the best salon in town. Me and my friends love this place. Never have had any issues and Mya is the best!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Avoid this salon at all costs - or you may find yourself paying a high price!



On Thursday, August 14, 2008, I paid for services at Mya Nail & Tan - those services were a manicure and a pedicure.



1. During the pedicure, skin on my toe was cut; a cut that subsequently became infected.

2. During the manicure, my nails were cut to uneven lengths and filed erratically with no uniform appearance. One side of a nail was rounded, the other squared off; this repeated on every nail.



After numerous attempts over the weekend to contact the owner, I finally spoke with her on Monday, August 18. She told me I would need to come into her place of business to further discuss the complaints. Upon doing so and requesting information on her protocol for sterilizing cutting instruments between clients (this with a mind to the oozing infection on my toe), I was met with an aggressive attitude as she pulled various bottles from a cupboard and screamed that she would not order these things if she didn't use them. She remained unable to tell me what her sterilization protocol was. She did offer to re-file the nails on my hands, I refused and requested a refund so that I might go elsewhere and have the services provided in a competent manner. She refused to provide a refund and then stated that it was due to my nails that such a poor job had been done and that she "doesn't have a magic wand".



I should point out that I bear no deformities of any kind on my hands and, in fact, worked briefly as a hand model many years ago. I have had many manicures performed by competent professionals who have had no need of a magic wand to make my nails look fantastic.



Our encounter concluded with her screaming at me to "get out of my salon".



There are so many nail salons out there – don’t choose this one that obviously is unable to provide competent service, has no regard for customer service and very questionable hygiene practices. Do you want your cuticle cut with an instrument that probably did the same thing to the last customer?



I intend to take the salon to Small Claims Court for the cost of my doctor’s visit, prescribed antibiotics and any other costs I incur in the treatment.
