Creepy maintenance man holding inappropriate conversation. Did not do basic maintenance and six weeks later had massive water drainage from unit, soaking baseboards and causing damage. Called another company and it was simply a blocked line (which should have been taken care of with the maintenance. Also discovered he had damaged the brackets holding the front panel and just taped over it to hold it together. Also did not put panel in front of filter back on, causing more issues. I would recommend you DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

The owner of Air Comfort Services, Perry Van Fleet came to my elderly aunt’s home and gave us a quote to install a new AC unit. Being a 63 year old single woman and having no knowledge of the HVAC industry, she whole heartedly trusted Mr. Van Fleet and his employees to complete the job and give her what she needed to keep her home cool. The job was completed and paid in full and afterwards the home would not cool below 85. After several phone calls and service calls Mr. Van Fleet said the home would not cool because the entire duct work system needed to be replaced. He then gave a quote to complete this at almost $2,000. He also said that this is also the reason he had never called for a final permit inspection. The system would not pass until we replaced all of the duct work. After three months of living in a sweat house and not getting anywhere we contacted two other companies and they inspected the system installed by Air Comfort and our duct work. Both companies said nothing was wrong with our duct work and the problem was that Air Comfort had put in a system that was too small to cool the home.

I contacted Mr. Van Fleet with this information and asked that he just come and remove this equipment and give us a refund so that we could hire a new company. Mr. Van Fleet refused to do so and said his only offer was to come out and install a 2.5 ton compressor (that according to load calculations was still too small) for and additional $300, but he would only do so after we replaced all the duct work that we had already been told did not need to be replaced. He then said if we would rather have someone else replace the duct work for us he would give us a drawing and supply list, but he still would not install the bigger unit until the duct work was replaced. He gave us 3 days to either take him up on this offer or "forfeit" our right to have him deal with this issue.

At this point it had been four months since my aunt’s home had been below 85 degrees, and the summer was only getting hotter. I was forced to get an attorney on her behalf (because she lives on a fixed social security income) to see what our options were at this point. My attorney contacted Mr. Van Fleet and asked him to provide us with a competitive quote to install a proper 3 ton system, or to just come and get his equipment and give us a refund. Mr. Van Fleet never replied and to make the home livable we were forced to have a new company come out and install a sufficient system. My family is now out of the $3,000 plus dollars we paid Air Comfort Services for an insufficient system and another $4,000 that we had to pay the new company to come out and install a proper system.

I am now being forced to take this company to small claims court to recuperate the money we invested in the insufficient system they installed and refused to pick up and refund us for.
