great dentist!!

My local dentist referred us to Dr. Ellsworth after realizing my 18 month old had many issues with her teeth that needed to be fixed. Her office got us in in less than a week. She was very patient and clearly explained everything to us before doing any work. Working with children is all she does, and she is clearly gifted. I recommend her to everyone with a child who needs more than just a cleaning. She is highly respected by other Dentist also for her outstanding work ethics. You can always expect too that you will receive a call from her personally that same day to check on you child

My children love going to Dr. E! Her staff is very friendly and able to get my children in and done before school. I am always aware of what my estimated cost will be the day before my appointment and that is a big help so that I am not shocked with a huge amount that I was not expecting.

Highly recommended! I brought ...

Highly recommended! I brought my 19 month old son to Dr. Ellsworth's office after seeing one of their business cards at our pediatrician's office. I was previously under the impression that children did not need to see the dentist until they were three years of age, but after reading their card I was informed that children should see the dentist as soon as they turn a year old. The hygienist there, Renee, was so friendly and worked really well on my son. My son was allowed to sit on his father's lap while the cleaning was being done and during the doctor's exam. Dr. E also informed us that children who do not use city water should take a fluoride tablet or use bottled water containing fluoride, since the city water provides the fluoride already in their water supply. So we now use fluoride water when making our other son's bottles and when giving our 19 month old water. Renee and Dr. E also went over a tooth with us that had a dark spot and that they were going to keep a close eye on it and when brushing my son's teeth at home to pay special attention to that tooth and take some extra time brushing that area. I am very pleased with my experience there and feel very grateful that I saw their business card and made an appointment. I recommend her to all of my friend's with children!

Not recommended for anything m...

Not recommended for anything more than a cleaning! Dr. Ellsworth's office tried to get me to pay for a LOT of fillings. When I took my daughter for a second opinion she only needed one, not six. Also, they won't use "happy gas" but if your child is freaked out they will happily strap them to the chair and then turn up the music in the lobby so you can't hear your child scream. Only a few toys in the waiting room and also a fountain that complete with pebbles that your little ones can choke on (if they don't pull it on top of themselves and get soaked first.) It appears great but really, don't go there!

All children are treated in a humane and caring manor utilizing ethical, moral and AAPD/ADA approved techniques. Dr. Ellsworth has an excellent reputation in the community and any acts of defamation via the internet or other media will not be tolerated.

I would definitely get a secon...

I would definitely get a second opinion when dealing with DR. Ellsworth. She wanted to charge us for unnecessary work on my 10 year old. When we told her we would be getting a second opinion her entire staff made us feel stupid and they even wanted to charge us $25 extra (after paying $400 for initial exam) to have x-rays e-mailed to another dentist! We got 2 other opinions from dentists and both agreed that there were cavities, but multiple root canals and crowns were completely unnecessary! She would have bilked us for $4,000 in services! We had taken our kids to her as she specializes in kids, but we learned that just because she can handle scared kids, she is in the business of getting as much money out of your pocket as possible, all in the name of your child’s health!

Beware and get a second opinion!!!

All treatment plans are presented to the parent/guardian using x rays, models and showing the parent the tooth decay in the child's mouth. Decay is shown to the parent/guardian via the use of digital x ray/ computer screen and each decayed tooth is pointed out for the parent to view on the x ray. Dr. Ellsworth's office spends a lot of time explaining treatment plans and behavior management techniques to the parent/guardian before any treatment begins. Treatment plans are also pre-authorized so the parent/guardian understands their financial obligation. Dr. Ellsworth's practice takes great pride in the ethical and moral treatment of the families that visit her office. She is honest and does not perform unnecessary procedures. Any defamatory remarks will not be tolerated and will be reported to the proper counsel.

Dr. Ellsworth is the only dent...

Dr. Ellsworth is the only dentist my 7 year old has been to. It says a lot if a child LOOKS FORWARD to going to the dentist and, to this day, has NO idea she received a shot for a filling! :) Great staff, decent prices, and a very relaxing atmosphere (complete with TVs the ceiling & fun reward toy box) for the kids. She is a little higher priced than our 'family' dentist, but I will pay the small amount extra to ensure my child has a not scary/not painful denist experience!
