We stayed the night in one of their tents and made a family / no technology night of the experience. We stayed in November with recent rains but were warm with the space heater and electric blankets provided. Our guide, Jessica, was friendly and very knowledgeable. I would request her again for sure. Safari West started as an antelope farm so needless to say there were many varieties of antelope. I do wish there were more animals but still worth the experience. There is a walking tour as well and wished they had signs indicating what the creatures were for our arrival and yet before our tour to find out. 400 acres of lush land and many animals from antelope to birds to rhinos to ostriches to giraffes. They are currently building a butterfly farm to enjoy soon. I do wonder if you could hear more of the wildlife from our tent if it was on a warm spring /summer night. Might just have to go back and find out. My kids loved their bunking experience.

My children loved this 400 acre safari west park. We stayed in the cabin since I am to a camper but they have lovely campsites you rent. They have guided jeep tours last about an hour where one gets to be up close to giraffes and similar animals. My children call it one of the best vacations ever. You do not have to stay in the back you can pay the entrance and jeep tour fees. I recommend.

WOW! When I told my friends we were going to Safari West I got 2 answers- 1) Oh I've heard of it but never been there or 2) Never heard of it, but it sounds fun. Well, this place was great, we did the morning tour and most of the animals were out feeding. Our guide was knew everything about the animals that were there and made the tour not only fun but extremely educational. No lions, tigers or bears but you get to see animals that you would probably never see or know about. The Aviary is being worked on and it contained some interesting birds. Lunch was great with a BBQ chicken buffet, so all you can eat. We saw single photographers, adult couples and a large family gathering as well as normal families...
