The Sage Inn deserves 5 stars for its value. If you prefer boutique or luxury hotels (and can afford them), look elsewhere. But if cost is a factor, you won't find a better value in Santa Fe. My husband and I stayed in the Sage Inn for a friend's wedding and paid less than $100/night. Here are some details: ROOM Our room was very clean, quiet and faced a parking lot and park. Air conditioning unit and free WiFi worked perfectly (A/C unit also works as a heater). The room was on the small size, but fine for two people. It included cable TV, coffee maker, two comfortable beds, a desk, a desk chair and one side chair. Decor was southwestern, but not over-the-top. Our only problem was the room key... a lot of guests had trouble getting the electronic room keys to work. BATHROOM Bathroom was divided into two parts: a separate room with toilet, shower, fan & heat lamp, and an area off the bedroom with the sink, hairdryer, etc. Shower was strong with plenty of hot water

Stayed for four nightsSunday through Wednesday. Everyone at the registration desk was increcibly pleasant and helpful. Location convenient to Whole Foods (next door), SITE Santa Fe & the Railyard (including the Second Street Brewery). Difficult to believe youre right on Cerrillos Road since the motel is quiet and seems very private. Rooms arent lavish but clean. My bed was a little past its prime, but the room was still an incredible value. Breakfast wasnt fancy but adequate (hard-boiled eggs, bananas and apples, muffins, bagels, cereal and oat meal, toaster waffles, coffee, OJ, apple juice, milk). Wi-fi was free but spotty (I was told they were working out the problems and I believe them). They have an hourly shuttle to/from the square which is amazing and the driver is extremely helpful. One night when we were trying to figure out where La Choza was so we could walk to it, he offered to drop us off since he had a few minutes before his next shuttle

What a great way to get acquainted with Santa Fe. Jerry makes it informative, humorous and very enjoyable!! One of the best tours we've experienced. The shuttle service was exceptional and ran all day long.

We are staying here for our third time and still think that it is a great value. Rooms may be a bit on the small side, but the price certainly is right and there is a high level of cleanliness. The service here is always fantastic, but Steven at the front desk is a true jewel.

This hotel was a wonderful surprise! We had a cute, comfy, clean room, just a few minutes walk away from the plaza and tourist attractions and best of all, the price was so affordable, we could have stayed there all week! Extras like the hot, extended breakfast, laundry facilities and outdoor pool made all that much more of a value. The staff was friendly and helpful and although we didn't need it, they offer a complimentary shuttle to points of interest. I would highly recommend this property to anyone that likes a deal combined with a comfortable stay.

She is a gem! Clean, close to everything and affordable. I saw lots of pets. Staff goes out of its way to be helpful. They stored food in their freezer and refrigerator for me! Very clean and I felt safe at Sage!

Our daughter originally booked this for us for one night in late September. We liked it so well we stayed for 5 nights, through October 5. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was wonderfully accommodating, and the location was convenient. We could walk to the Plaza, which we did a few times, and Whole Foods is right next door so we got lunch, snacks, etc., there as well. Breakfast was fine...hot items as well as the usual juice/coffee/tea. Wireless was good and the lobby had a computer and printer for our use w/out charge for boarding passes, etc. There is a free shuttle to/from the Plaza if you don't feel like walking. There is a (locked) coin laundry room, as well as facilities to work out.

Any closer to the Plaza and you will pay at least two or three times the price. Would have rated it 'Excellent' if the rooms had a small refrigerator and microwave. Nice continental breakfast. Wifi plus a couple of workstations for use in the lobby if you did not bring a laptop or pad with wireless. Solid, quite clean rooms. Super friendly and helpful staff. The ice machine was broken near my room and when I mentioned it to one of their staff he took my bucket and literally ran to get ice from another machine. (The ice machine was working the next day.) Walking distance to the Plaza and Whole Foods where I could smell the chile roasting. Best of all its a very short walk to my favorite New Mexican restaurant, La Choza, which is owned and operated by the same people as The Shed. La Choza has real New Mexican food and atmosphere with good prices. Try the Carne Adovada anything or the Green Chile Clam Chowder (Yep. That's right. Clam Chowder.)

I booked the Santa Fe Sage Inn because it was reasonably priced and was so close to the train station we could walk. The hotel staff was wonderful, and the shuttle took us downtown and picked us up so we didn't need a vehicle to see Santa Fe. We booked the place again on the way back from Taos to Albuquerque because the stay was so pleasant. Fairly standard rooms, no fridge, but there are laundry facilities and an exercise room available, as well as access to a couple of computers with printers. I'd stay here again.

Perfect location to get to downtown plaza. Wholefoods next door with most needs, a very well stocked but basic continental breakfast, picnic area out side for smokers and down time. The staff is wonderful and the service was excellent. Several things could have been made simpler. There is nothing in the litterature or online that states there is no elevator to the second floor; for us no problem, though we did have someone help with luggage. But we watched a very elderly gentleman traverse the steps to the second floor twice, and my heart just broke for him. Also, on entering the rooms for the first time all of us (we had several rooms) noticed a rather moldy moist smell; a bit of a turn off, but easily remedied. Otherwise the rooms were very clean.

We stayed at Santa Fe Sage Inn during Balloon Fiesta week. It was our first visit to Santa Fe, and we had looked for a decent, affordable place that was located relatively close to the main Santa Fe sights. We were not disappointed, as it is walking distance to the Plaza area. The rooms are small and look a little bit worn, but appeared to be well-kept and clean. We were housed on the second floor, and could have used an elevator to haul baggage (older ladies, bad knees) but the staff sent someone to assist us right away on both check in and check out. The shuttle service they offer was great, and we did use it a couple of times even though we had a rental car as well. Breakfast was a little lack luster, but was kept well stocked on some very busy mornings. I can also recommend using the walking tour that bases itself out of the Sage. The guide Jerry, has good knowledge of the area, and was an entertaining character to give us a brief intro to the main sights of Santa Fe. .

Sage Inn is just a short walk from the centre of Santa Fe and I walked it at night comfortably. they have a shuttle that goes into town and back on the hour during the day and the lady that drives the bus is a sweetie. I used the laundry and it did a great job cleaning my travel weary clothes!! Wholefoods is well located next door and handy to find healthy good food...a great shop indeed. Sage is a cross between a motel and a hotel and although quite basic, was very comfortable and suited my needs. I have stayed there once before and the staff were as friendly this time as they were three years ago. Well done Sage Inn...

Santa Fe Sage Inn was recommended to me when I stopped at the rest area on 25 halfway between ABQ and S.F. Easy checkin and Diana couldn't have been more helpful. Wanted to walk to a restaurant for dinner, and she gave me the names of several that she thought were very good. The room was nicely appointed and noise level was very low. The young woman on the morning shift, didn't get her name, was very helpful in recommending a good breakfast place, also within walking distance. Just a nibble at the Inn's breakfast room, I wanted to save my appetite for a traditional New Mexican style red and green chiles breakfast. Price of my room was on the low end of the rate range of motels/hotels I've stayed in over the last three months, so quite pleased. Next time in Santa Fe for overnight I'd definitely stay at the Sage Inn!

We chose the Sage Inn based on other Tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. The room was clean and comfy though not large. Very friendly and helpful staff and the free shuttle to and from the Plaza saves you over $10 a day. Plus you get a little "tour guide" type information on the way. A very inviting and convenient facility.
