Within a few hours of buying a silver and turquoise ring to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, one of the 25 pieces of turquoise was lost. The prongs of the ring were open and appeared damaged wear the stone was sitting. The store owners were kind enough when buying the ring (and earrings) and after asking them a few times whether the ring would hold up for daily use, I was assured as long as I didn't wear it gardening or in the jacuzzi, it would be suitable for daily use. Obviously the stone was loose and/or damaged, perhaps when the ring was resized by them and handled by them, the same day of purchase. The owners are not taking any responsibility to repair the ring, although one of the owners (Jessica, who sold me the ring) agreed that the stone should not have been lost so soon. Her attitude over the phone was a surprise, as she did not take immediate responsibility for the issue. She also did not return my phone calls or respond to an email, that she requested I send with photos of the damaged ring. I eventually spoke with her husband ( I had to keep calling, as they were simply avoiding taking responsibility and not responding to my calls/emails). I believe he's the other half of the ownership team. His attitude was very dismissive, and he right away said he would not repair the ring. He complained he was only making $11.00 profit on the ring. He blamed me for breaking the ring. Since I had only worn the ring a few hours and had no mishaps (as he suggested, such as banging it on a door), it is highly likely that the prongs of the ring were already loose when returned to me after his jeweler sized the ring. This store is planning to move to Lake Tahoe, CA, and will no longer be in Santa Fe. Hopefully this will make room for a more reputable, honest business to take their place. There are many other choices in Santa Fe for jewelry, so be advised to stay away from Moxie. They do not stand by their products.
