Santa Barbara County Education Office, located in Santa Barbara, Calif., is an intermediate agency between the California State Department of Education and more than 20 school districts and community colleges located within the county s boundaries. It provides service and leadership to the districts in the areas of students, teachers and finance. The organization s Center for Community Education provides administration, technical assistance and training for programs that promote school and community partnerships serving parents and children. Its foster youth services program oversees the educational needs of foster youth residing in licensed group homes, provides educational case management, facilitates multiagency collaborations, and provides information and advocacy.
