We live in Yorkshire Plantation, in Cameron, NC and the ONLY wired service provider for internet is Windstream. Though they tout that you can get up to 6M, most days I am lucky to get 1.5M of data rate. We have complained to the company and their only comment is that the distance from the D-SLAM is too far. I am sure with today's technology, they could upgrade the switch that services our area. Once neighbor did get a letter back from Windstream and was basically told that the switch nor any other upgrades are planned. If we had another wired carrier, either Time Warner, Cox, Charter or Verizon/AT&T, most in my neighborhood would drop Windstream as their internet service provider

The internet is OK. Only OK. Customer service is terrible. If i could get cable internet where i live i would drop them in a heart beet. All I have is internet and the 54 a month turned into 95. Yes 41 in fees and taxes every month. 41 dollars. When i called to justify all the fees and charges the lady told me to be happy this is all there charging me. They charge me 5 in fees and taxes on parts of my bill with a 0 balance. so there just adding money. Look for other options.

This is easily the worst internet service I've ever had. Just got it today and it has gone out NON STOP ever since.
