I took my son in to look at kittens because we saw a sign in the window for them and we have been looking for months for a kitten or cat he connects with and wants to take home. So far we've come up empty handed, he wants a cat badly, but he's a very particular child. So we go in, there are 3 little kittens in a tiny ferret cage. I asked if we could hold one or pet them and the woman working (owner I'm assuming) said she would only let us hold them if we were going to buy one. Well, I'm not going to buy an animal without being able to determine what kind of temperament it has and she then followed that up with the ol' if she does it for us, she has to do it for everyone...literally crickets chirping after she said this. It was 2pm in the afternoon on a Wednesday. Not a single soul in sight and we had been in there just looking at the kittens for awhile, while she was chatting on the phone, before she came up to us. So, yeah, not buying it. I'm assuming she didn't want to hassle with opening the cage even if it meant potentially finding one of the cats a home. Whatever. We won't be back and we will continue our search elsewhere.

I have found Dollys to be very helpful with my cats issues. She recommended a food that has been working very well. I enjoy my visits to Dollys, she is very knowledgeable and pleasant. She really cares about their customers pets.

The owners of Dolly's Pet Shoppe breed most of the small animals that they sell. I bought two month-old female rats from them back in September, and have been very happy with the purchase. The woman at the counter was helpful and knowledgeable about the animals' backgrounds and heritage (my two girls, for example, were sisters with two different dads), and of how they were socialized as babies, to ensure they made good pets. Their prices were reasonable, they allowed me to freely interact with the rats as I tried to pick them out, and as an extra plus, she mentioned that at the store, they try to scope out which buyers they think are going to use the rats as food, and discourage them from buying. Overall, I got the impression that Dolly's really cares about the animals they sell.



My rats are coming up on a year old now and are absolute little joys. Next time I'm looking for a new small animal pet, I will be happy to return.

When I walked into the pet shop, I found it very clean, organized and the person behind the counter very friendly and knowledgeable. I will always shop here for all my pet needs and I will tell all my family and friends about Dollys in Sandy. Happy Customer
