I first met Dr Grablin in 2005 when I had an issue with a cracked and failing molar. The dentist I was seeing in Santa Rosa sent me to another dental professional for a second opinion and both of them agreed that the tooth needed to be pulled. Dr. Grablin referred me to one of his colleagues who looked at my tooth and told me that it was worth saving. Oh, and Dr. Gary also drove me over to this second dentist in HIS car in a driving rain storm and sat in on the consultation. Bottom line was that I was able to keep this tooth another 8 years before it failed completely and had to be pulled. Additionally, Dr. Grablin has done a lot more work on my teeth and it has all been first rate. Other dentists have also been impressed with his work. I highly recommend Dr. Gary Grablin!

First time I came into his office, I was in such a bad shape. It was after I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and discovered that I was chronically mercury poisoned. I was in a lot of pain in my throat, neck, shoulders, fingers, knees, ankles and feet. I had no idea what it would be like to go through replacement of all the “silver” (mercury) fillings in my mouth. I was desperate, horrified and in pain.

When I walked into the office of Dr. Grablin, Gail and he introduced themselves to me in such a welcoming and positive manner. They were concerned, caring, respectful and confident.

At the initial consultation, Dr. Grablin intently listened to the problems I had and solution that I was seeking and put it his highest priority to get rid of all mercury fillings in my mouth. We started the work a few days later.

When we began working on the procedures, Dr. Grablin was extremely careful in not exposing me to any mercury during or after each procedure. He used the rubber dam, high speed vacuum and lots of water to prevent it. And I experienced no acute mercury poisoning symptoms after each procedure.

Every time I sat in his dental chair, he offered these thoughtful items that made his patients most comfortable they could ever be in a dental chair. I could not have felt nearly as comfortable or relaxed without them; an airplane pillow, tinted goggles, a knee support cushion, blanket and lip gloss.

His very thoughtful and caring personality also extended to the communication with his patients. He asked me how I was doing several times during the procedure and made funny jokes to make me laugh and relax. Trust me. It works.

When it comes to the quality and accuracy of his work, he never, ever, ever, ever compromises. He practically re-constructed my entire mouth in order to replace 8 mercury fillings I had in my mouth, redo the awful and cheap work other dentists had done on me in the past and correct other dental problems that I had. He wants the best of best for his patients, so that the patient will experience the best dental health for the longest time which will inevitably affect his/her overall health for a long time as well.

There were a few times I actually fell asleep while he was drilling into my tooth. I had developed that kind of trust and secure feelings about his work. I had never in my life trusted a health care practitioner before I met Dr. G. None of the doctors or dentists that had worked on me had true interest in the long-term health of my body as a whole. But this one, Dr. Grablin, will be even more eager and committed than you are for you to achieve the best dental health of a life time. He is the very, very best dentist I have ever known and the only one I can trust. For the first time in my life, I could just sit back and relax, instead of carefully looking for their own agenda, correcting their approaches and insisting on not further harming my body. Dr. G is the best! I can’t thank him enough for his willingness to care so much and do such amazing work to transform my mouth and life. I couldn’t have been where I am at now without him, on my way to recovery.

Dr. Grablin has been taking care of my teeth for about 20 years. He is everything one would want in a dentist: highly skilled, compassionate, and thorough. I recommend him without hesitation.

At the time I first met Dr. Gary Grablin, reviews of my dental health indicated it was very poor, and perhaps not repairable very much. Dr. Grablin very carefully considered how to customize dental procedures to fit my particular state of disrepair, and virtually "rebuilt my mouth" over a number of months. He did this with immense sensitivity to my anxiousness and discomforts. He was amazingly scientific about his efforts to be thorough, and give lifelong dental health, and he goes considerably out of his way to use digital photography and many innovative tools to educate patients on how teeth can be kept for life by certain practices. He rarely starts changing one tooth without first considering thorough now those changes will interact with most other important teeth and one's over all bite, gums and jaw health. Dr. Grablin met me 15 years ago when I was fresh out of college and I had a chipped tooth. He fixed that tooth, allowing me to pay it off in installments. Since that time he has taught me exactly how to care for my teeth, replaced all the old amalgams, removed wisdom teeth, and crowned a number of infected, painful molars. Dr. Grablin and staff are attentive, courteous and concerned about me keeping my teeth for a lifetime. I recommend his practice highly.

Gary Grablin spent a lot of time initially with me going over my X-rays, doing a fitness check, and translating my treatment plan onto the computer for me to see so that I could understand everything, and planned my treatment so that all work would be stable and permanent.



I consented to everything he recommended, and we both concurred to about one - two years' worth of work, which has ended with my teeth needing only cleaning and fitness checking, and fillings are a thing of the past.



I would recommend anyone to Dr. Grablin if they want to keep their teeth healthy and beautiful for life.

I moved to San Rafael in 1993 and have been going to Dr. Grablin since 1994. Of all the dentists I have been to throughout my lifetime, Dr. Grablin is the most caring and compassionate dentist I have ever known. For anyone looking for a dentist in the San Rafael area, I highly recommend Dr. Grablin!!
