Mexican American Community Services Agency, also known as MACSA, is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization offering various youth development programs at youth centers, schools, library and community sites. Established in 1964, the agency provides a more than 50 unit subsidized senior apartment complex, known as Girasol, for low-income seniors that comprises a community room, television and reading room, laundry room, conference room, lounge and conference room. Its college preparatory charter high school, El Portal Leadership Academy, offers mandatory summer bridge program for incoming ninth grade students. The agency s youth leadership club provides middle school students with educational and recreational activities that focus on leadership development, homework assistance and community service projects. Mexican American Community Services Agency is located in San Jose, Calif., and offers programs throughout Santa Clara County.
