They worked with a Mexican moving company to relocate me to Mexico. Together they lost thousands of dollars of personal property (rug, computer peripheries, books, bed clothes, etc.) and then refused to admit any responsibility for these events.



They also packed or repacked some innocuous items like cat food and medications and then later intentionally (and admittedly) destroyed the entire box which also appears to have contained some valuable personal property of mine. They destroyed the entire box because the box contained cat food and medications that are on the "bad" list for Mexican Customs. This local US company should have returned all items to me as I still own a home in the area of the moving company, where the move originated, and I had not authorized the destruction of my goods.



I would NEVER use this incompetent moving company for anything.

I chose Ace for my move from the bay to LA b/c of their reputation and binding prices. They came to my house to take a survey of the items I wanted moved so they could give me an accurate weight estimate. Whatever you do, DON'T let them talk you into signing a binding estimate or sell you any packing or boxing with your package. I initially signed a binding estimate quote, but luckily a few days before the move I decided to go with a "not to exceed" quote instead. The guy who came to do the survey assured me that his quote would be very accurate, but my actual weight went over by 2,000 lbs!!! Also, when I got the package deal, I was't sure if I wanted to pack up my TV myself or have them wrap it, so they recommended that I just include it into the deal b/c as long as I didn't use it they could always remove the extra packing charge. Well that was a lie as well. They told me after they dropped off my things that since my weight went over the quoted weight I can't remove the extra packing fee (I packed my own TV). And if I wanted to remove the packing fee then I have to pay for the actual weight (which was 2,000 lbs over my quoted weight) at a higher rate. So much for binding and not to exceed quotes. If you end up choosing Ace make sure you read all the fine print otherwise you'll end up paying for more services than you actually used. On a side note, the actual movers were great! They took care of all of my belongings and placed all of my things exactly where I wanted them. Too bad I will never use/refer then again.
