Meriwether is a wholesale/retail jewelry business dealing in estate and contemporary jewelry. Since 1983, Meriwether has catered to the highest echelon of jewelry consumers in San Francisco as well as across the country. She has regularly inventoried signed pieces from Tiffany, Cartier, Van Cleef, David Webb, Boucheron, Bulgari etc. Meriwether is happy to have designed many pieces for a clientele with an extremely discerning eye. In addition to the many engagement rings designed each year, Meriwether has been commissioned to manufacture earrings, necklaces and brooches of greatly varying designs. Meriwether McGettigan, owner, attended the Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica, CA, in 1981. She completed courses for certification in Diamond Grading and Evaluation, Colored Stone Evaluation and Identification, and Design, before becoming certified as a Graduate Gemologist. She is an accredited member of the International Society of Appraisers and a member in good standing of the Jewelers Board of Trade. Meriwether frequently lectures on c1940s jewelry as well as notable designers of the 20th century to various groups in the Bay Area. She was asked to lecture on the Retro period at the 2009 Antique Jewelry & Art Conference at Hofstra University in New York.
