Gina Frugoni, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist who provides expert prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. She also provides comprehensive gynecological care, including well woman visits, family planning, and treatment for issues such as abnormal Pap smears, fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, gynecological infections or sexually transmitted diseases.She has a special interest in minimally invasive gynecologic and robotic surgeries for the treatment of abnormal bleeding, military sexual trauma, and pregnancies complicated by illicit drug use and contraception. She is interested in health care delivery and the special health concerns of underserved populations, including providing general obstetrics and gynecology services to incarcerated women.Through a joint position with the VA San Diego Healthcare System, Dr. Frugoni has studied veterans perception of health care and how military sexual trauma affects gynecologic care of female veterans.As an assistant professor in the Department of Reproductive Medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Frugoni is involved with training OB/GYNs during their residencies. She completed her residency training at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where she also earned her medical degree.
