The first time I took my vehicle to Star Transmission, it was for a routine checkup. I did not have a way home, and although I declined the offer, I found it very kind of Ms. Rose to offer to give me a ride. Mr. Nahnsen called me within 30 min to let me know what needed to be done, the cost and when ready for pick up. Fast service!

It's been five months since then and I noticed my SUV was puttering when in idle at stops. I returned to Star Transmission. Mr. Nahnsen ran a diagnostics and immediately called me to tell me that it was the censors. After a couple of hours I received a call from Ms. Rose who informed me that Mr. Nahnsen ran a few more tests on my vehicle after letting it run for a while and requested that I go to the shop to see for myself. Mr. Nahnsen stopped what he was doing and personally showed me the bigger issue. I have zero knowledge in this field so I had many questions. Mr. Nahnsen answered every question I had and even took the time to get on line while I was there and researched estimates on parts and options to consider. He was very understanding to my financial situation. I will definitely return to Star Transmission to get my SUV taken care of. Even returning to pick up my vehicle was a bit of a tackle and there again both Ms. Rose and Mr. Nahnsen were figuring a way to accommodate my availability.
I had gone to other mechanics in the past before being referred to Star Transmission and never received this type of service.

Both he and Ms. Rose showed an incredible amount of professionalism and understanding by going one step further. It's nice to have finally found a trustworthy mechanic to take my vehicles to. I truly am grateful for the level of professionalism and service they provide and will definitely be back.

Total rip-off. My transmission was old and slipping badly, so I paid for a complete transmission rebuild. I called after a week and a half of dropping off the car; and the owner told me they hadn't even looked at it! I called back a week after that, and she gave the me same story, then copped an attitude about how if I didn't like it I should take it somewhere else. I told her that was fine and I wanted my money back, to which she said, "No refunds." That's right, she wanted to keep my $2,000 I already paid without even looking at the car. I had no choice but to leave the car there. It didn't get "Fixed" until over a month after I dropped it off.

When I got it back the owners left oil and grease stains all over the interior and exterior of my car. The interior smelled badly of cigarette smoke. My jack and tire wrench were missing. They even stole the change from my console!

That's hardly the worst part, tough. A month after I dropped it off it started slipping again! I took it to a better shop and they told me only one of the gears in the transmission was replaced, even though I paid for a full rebuild. I called the manager on the phone to speak with the about it and she hung up on me! When I went to her office to discuss this in person, her response was, "Sue me." I'm trying to do just that, but now she keeps her office doors locked and screens the entrants in order to avoid being served her court papers. Absolutely avoid this place at all costs. You WILL be horribly ripped off by these crooks.

Stay away Steven Nahnsen and rose Hernandez (the owners should be in jail) I took my car a Mazda Miata for repairs i originally spoke with Steve and he told me that the work that my car needed was minor and that it would only take him 2 day to fix it. well 2 days turned into almost 2 month's so i finelly called and told him i needed to pick up my car...he told me that it still wan not running and that the bill was 516.00....i had to pay to get my car towed to a real mechanic at Spitfire on commerce st. and they had my car running in 2 days and they also told me that there was no evedence that anywork had been started on my car. I strongly believe that Steven Nahnsen and rose Hernandez are con-artist and should be sent to jail.
