On march 15th I took my grizzly lathe bed model 0733 to have cardona weld a crack and they (jacob cardona) quoted me $65.00 to do the cast iron welding. Well, later that day Jacob (cardona's son) said that he spoke to his dad and said that he couldn't honor the price of $65.00 dollars but could do it for $125.00. I said to him no that he quoted me a price already and he should honor it. . They said they couldn't do it so i decided to go over and pick it up and take it somehere else. When i got there the lathe was hammered from underneath and they left it with a huge crack opening from the top. I posted some pictures so you can see for your self what these stupid guys did! This left me so upset and i told him that i could not take it like that and you guys will have to fix it like you first quoted me for $65.00 I never gave jacob or his dad Johnny the permission to hammer out the crack. That was friday and i came back on monday and talked to jacob and he said that he never talked to his dad about the whole situation and that mr. cardona has been out of town. and has not answered his phone . At first Jacob stated that his dad was the one that hammered out the crack and had to do it this way so he can determine how much to charge me ! I am thinking to my self that i don't think Johnny cardona is that stupid to hammer out the crack and just leave it that way with out the customers permission to agree to the $125 price. So i am thinking Jacob is the one that did it not his dad but I really don't know the whole truth to the story . This is just an assumption from dealing with his dad all these years ! . Its been a month later and still no phone call from Mr. Cardona ! I will never deal with this shop ever again ! I now have to invest into buying a new grizzly lathe bed for $415.00 +shipping from Grizzly industrial. Avoid all the headaches and do your business with another welding shop !
