In 1958, Russell H. Cooper and Russell J. Cooper, a father and son team, opened the doors to their new business, a small emgine repair shop. J. Harvey Spahr Oldsmobile Dealership had previously employed both in Manheim. R.H. Cooper & Son have come a long way since that time. Now a third generation family member, Ronald J. Cooper, the grandson of Russell H. Cooper and the son of Russell J. Cooper, owns and operates the family business. The original repair shop was located on Oak Lane in Salunga. Working out of a converted barn, the business was focused on outboard and lawn mower repair. It soon progressed to auto and heavy truck repair. In 1960 the barn was replaced with a new three bay repair facility. The continued growth of the business enabled the company to move to a larger facility. In 1994, the shop was moved to its present location at 115 West Main Street in Salunga. Heavy truck repair is no longer done. The business is now entirely on auto repair facility. From its beginning to the present time, R.H. Cooper & Son grew from two employees to its present 12 employees. The philosophy of R.H. Cooper & Son has always been to provide honest and dependable service at a reasonable fee. This tried and proven philosophy has allowed the company to grow and prosper.
