Granger Pharmacy dispensed medication to me that was wrong. It was in the correct bottle, but it was the wrong medicine. I discovered the error when I opened the bottle to find tablets instead of capsules, which made me suspicious. I recorded the numbers from the pills and discovered on the internet that they had dispensed to me a completely different medicine. The dosage I would have taken of this completely wrong medicine would have produced side effects from vomiting to headaches and unexplained dizziness, even the possibility of a seizure. The pharmacy put my health at risk.

I took the bottle of pills to the pharmacy to discuss the mistake with them, thinking they would be embarrassed and remorseful, but they were not. Brian, the pharmacist and owner, responded by telling me that that in the past they had taken good care of me and had done me favors. Favors? Giving me the wrong medicine and jeopardizing my health was a favor? Had Brian only said something like “Oh my, how fortunate you recognized the error. I’m so grateful you didn’t take these. Are you ok? What can we do to make this right?”, I would have been satisfied. But he did nothing remotely like that. Not only was the pharmacy incompetent in filling the prescription, they showed no concern for my welfare.

When I asked Brian to return the bottle of pills so I could report this mistake, he refused saying, “This bottle should never have left the pharmacy in the first place.” That was exactly my point. I could have been a sick man because of their mistake.
