Founded in London in 1844, YMCA of Rowan County is an all-inclusive organization serving the people of Rowan County. The association consists of four branches: the East Rowan Branch (Saleeby -Fisher YMCA), the South Rowan Branch (J. Fred Corriher Jr. YMCA), the West Rowan Branch (programs only) and the Salisbury Branch (J.F. Hurley Family YMCA). All its facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art fitness equipment, swimming pools, gymnasiums, youth rooms and many other components individualized to each branch. YMCA of Rowan County offers an array of programs, including a variety of youth programs, such as before and after-school care programs, swimming, sports leagues, instructional classes, evening teen centers, counseling and health awareness, and life/social skills, to name a few.
