Founded in 1954, South Salem High School has an enrollment of more than 1,900 students in grades nine to 12. The school s curriculum includes programs in computer application, statistics, social studies, and language and composition. Its technology education program includes studies in woodworking, mechanics, wielding, drafting and electronics. The school provides programs in band, choir and orchestra. Its sports activities include cross country, football, basketball, cheerleading, baseball, golf and swimming. The school has a library media center offering various periodicals, journals, book and magazines. Its family and consumer science program offers creative sewing, fashion, foods, human development, interior designing, and personal and family living classes. It is part of Salem-Keizer Public Schools, and is located in Salem, Ore.
