You get what you pay for. Yes...

You get what you pay for. Yes, the membership is probably the cheapest in the area, but there are reasons for that: temperature control (in the summer, it's sometimes unbearably hot, and in the winter, it's cold); not a lot of amenities (no pool, sauna, etc.); equipment is old (most of the labels are gone from the weight machines, so sometimes you really aren't sure how much weight you're lifting, and it's a good bet that about 1/4 of the treadmills and ellipticals aren't working at any given time).
