In my opinion, this is one of the worst EMS training programs in Missouri.

* The instructors are either brand new paramedics with little to no experience, or else they're medics that couldn't cut it on an ambulance so they started teaching.

* The school doesn't have enough money (despite their $11,000 tution rate!) to hire adjuncts to help assist classes on skill days - So get this, your CLASSMATES will be the adjuncts. So yes, your classmate will be the guy teaching you how to properly intubate that manikin.

* Instructors sleep around with their students and the Directors turn a blind eye. And let me tell ya, that can make for an awkward class.... Knowing that just 30 minutes ago your instructor was banging the girl next to you. And probably the girl behind you.

*Goodbye ITLS! In order to get more money, IHM no longer teaches ITLS for medic students. They now make you PAY EXTRA to take their schools version of ITLS, that isn't accepted at any EMS agencies. So yes, you now pay extra for a certification that you cannot use. And it's a requirement, you can't decline this useless class.

* Get ready to do lots of extra clinicals & ride time! Clinical papers are lost and/or "misplaced" on a regular basis. And once he loses your papers, you'll have to redo the clinical time. If you go to the higher-ups, it'll just somehow end up being your fault.

Until this school does a complete staff overhaul, you're just wasting your time and money. Go somewhere else where you can get a real education... otherwise you won't ever be able to advance in your EMS career. Your lack of knowledge/education will put you too far behind other medics.

Go somewhere else!

I feel sorry for anyone who goes through the IHM medic program. This school is nothing but drama drama drama. Instructor fueds, lost clinicals, its never ending. If I could do it all over again, I would have saved my $11k and went to a better program. IHM cares about QUANTITY, not the quality.
